Re: Warping..

Well it sounds to me that the issue isn't with the warping, it's with the launching behavior of the clip itself. You said that you have to launch it bang on time. Make sure that you have the global quantization set to 1 bar at the top (this is in the same area as the play and stop buttons at the top...

Re: Harware Samplers - anyone still rock them?

How do people feel about the Elektron Octatrack? It seems kind of like a new 'generation' of hardware sampler, mixed with a Machine Drum. Pretty cool looking. It might be worth checking out if you want a hardware sampler.

Re: looking for an audiio interface under $200 usd

I think if you buy a Kontrol 1 right now, NI is throwing in a free synth too (either Massive, Absynth, or FM8 if I remember). Pretty good deal.

Re: Help with Ableton and Microkorg XL Please

Well, I'm not sure about Problem 1, but with 2, make sure when you Export, you choose 'Master', not 'All Tracks' in the 'Rendered Tracks' area. 'All Tracks' splits the song out into its individual stems

Re: good keyboard to go with ableton?

The only thing I did -not- like about it were the plastic, fake feel of the keys. I am not sure if the axiom has the same feel to it with its keys, but I think it's all around personal taste. The keys on the Axioms aren't too bad actually... definitely playable, and semi-weighted. For a non-keyboar...

Re: To Ableton or not to Ableton

For me, Live is the most 'fun' music production environment. It's hard to explain, but it just feels more like improvising, and I come up with interesting ideas quicker. I'm never planning on being a pro producer, so all the crazy pro features in something like Logic, Cubase, or Digital Performer do...

Re: good keyboard to go with ableton?

I'm guessing your budget it not huge if your going to spring for Ableton Intro, so I would recommend the M-Audio Axiom series. Great price, lots of features (knobs, pads, faders), good keys....

Re: Sasha's Involver series.

This thread has inspired me to go back and listen to Airdrawndagger. I forgot how much I love this album. It's been years since I've listened to it. It's holds up really well too. I'm going to be listening to it a lot over the next little bit I think.

I would check out the Vestax VCM600. Widely regarded as one of the best 'DJ' controllers for Live

Re: apc40 noobie questions

I would be happy to take a shot at your questions. In terms of faders on APC vs faders, I think that really comes down to personal preference. There isn't really a benefit to not using them though I don't think. Do you have a big epic (more than 8 channel) mixer and audio interface? If not, then go ...

Re: Dub FX... mad looping..

DubFX is really sick. If you're into this kinda thing, then you should definitely check out Beardyman as well. He does a similar thing, but using Kaoss pads (4 of them actually). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qciVXUHTN10 You should just watch that video above. It's an hour long show that he did, an...

Re: APC40 or APC20 + Evolution UC-33e?

Before I bought the APC, I was most excited about the clip launch matrix, but really, I think the best part of the whole unit is the Device Control section. Having knobs automagically mapped like that is really just awesome and I can't tell you how much I love having the LEDs around the side of the ...
