Re: Concerning Buying The Ableton Product

I think the free offer is only for the Partner Instruments, not the Ableton ones... ruling out Operator, Sampler, etc.

Re: batch rename file to match id3 tag.

I think you are in luck. You can use Itunes to rename them all. First open Itunes, then Edit -> Preferences. In the Advanced tab, put checkmarks in Keep Itunes Media Folder Organized, and Copy files to Itunes Media folder when adding to library. Then when you add the songs back to Itunes, they will ...

Re: Apc20 manual?

Well if it's like the APC40, then no. But why do you need a manual? You just sort of plug it in and everything works as it is labeled. It really is a brilliant integration of hardware and software.

Re: Live hardware monitoring using Motu Ultralike mk3

Ok, I'm good to go now. I had the input that I wanted to monitor muted on the Mixes tab still. Needless to say, once I unmuted, I was in business. Thanks again for the help.

Re: Live hardware monitoring using Motu Ultralike mk3

Thank you so much. I will give all of that a try. Going to watch that video as well too... hope it will clear up some of my confusion. edit: I'm at work so I can't try it right now, but I may have had some of the mutes on the Mixes area all goofed up. Maybe that's why I couldn't hear it. That will b...

Live hardware monitoring using Motu Ultralike mk3

I'm pretty new to my Ultralite and am pretty confused by CueMix FX and the hardware in general. I'm planning on recording my friend's DJ set. He uses a conventional setup (two turntables, mixer). I would like to record this set into Live, but am a bit worried that latency may cause a few problems wi...

Re: APC40 users - how much do you use the crossfader?

I like using it for 'beat juggling' sorta things. Put a delay on a send track (set to pre fader), and the drum track set to 'A' and the send set to 'B'. Set the delay to 2/16. Slide the crossfader from left to right for stuttery juggled fun.

Re: That Clicking sound!!

Maybe try increasing the glide or portamento (I can't remember what it's called on Analog... in fact, I can't remember if Analog even has this feature). This will make the new notes sort of blend in with the old a bit, and sort of fade between the two notes. I'm not much of a synth expert, but it ma...

"almost" only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. let's see you post your performance test results hot shot!!! and if you seriously want to get into this... name the reason why a computer with less expensive components and a less expensive operating system costs more than it's PC counterpart!!!...

Re: Autechre@ Berghain, Berlin 01.04.2010 WTF...?

I saw them for the Untitled tour somewhere in seattle (chop suey?) They didn't turn off all the lights as I remember they had a plank of wood or something put up and they were kneeling on the floor behind it. I found a small spot on the second floor where me and a few friends could squeeze in and s...

Re: Problems with Drum Rack

I have an MPD 18 as well and I haven't been able to figure this out either. It worked fine on a PadKontrol when I had it though. To be honest, it's pretty cool, but it's not as useful as you would think. There is no way to map the little box to anything midi, so if you want to scroll the rack, it ha...

Re: LiveControl: Automap for TouchOSC (ipod/ipad)

Well, I've managed to get it up and running sort of. TouchOSC can see all of the Live parameters, but none of the buttons on TouchOSC do anything in Live. I have the red box, any clips or devices that I add to Live are shown on TouchOSC, but TouchOSC itself doesn't seem to be sending a signal.

I've been really liking all of your tutorials. Keep up the good work. Are you coming over to Victoria to play any shows anytime soon? Thanks for watching and supporting! I'll be over in Vic playing Sunset Room on May 22nd. Full live PA set in Ableton with sax and Akai EWI4000s. I used to live in Vi...
