TV manufacturers should start selling their own version of VST plugins. For an extra $200, you get a multiband EQ, a compressor, a limiter, and 20 presets to get you started. Would you buy that option?

I got sick of it too, so I bought a cheap compressor, and stuck it in between my TV and Amp.

Instead of dragging an Impulse to your empty midi track, drag a Drum Rack. Use the same process shown in the video to copy a highlighted portion of the loop to one of the Drum Rack's slots. Don't limit yourself. Try the latest version of each release, and choose the one that gives you the best performance for your needs.
Of course, the trade-off of using an older release is not having the latest features, but depending on your needs, it might not matter.
