Re: What is the point in warping?

Concerning the beat swing factor in a DJ mix, it's hard to say without hearing it, or trying to mix it with other tracks, but why not fade in a straight 4 on the floor kick to see what it sounds like? Keep in mind, the crowd won't hear much of the intro/outro in a DJ mixset anyway. Maybe experiment ...

Re: help with chords and notes

When I was first learning on my own, I put a strip of paper above the keys on my controller. Then I put large dots on the paper for each key in the minor scale, flipped it over, and put dots on the paper for the major scale. After that, I could connect the dots with my fingers to create chords, and ...

After hiding the overview, in your preferences' file/folder section, save your current set as your default set.

Re: how can i record and put it in a clip?

The basic usage of Live 8 and Live 9 are very similar. So, watching the appropriate videos on this page should help: https://www.ableton.com/en/help/learn-live/

You can also follow the lessons included in Live: Help > Help View

Or... read the included manual.

Re: Dry / Wet Volume Issues

Yeah, I only read your post. I should have read the OP too.

You'll want to experiment with adjusting the spread of the zones, the length of the crossfades, and the output of each audio effect (if available).

It's not perfect, but it is flexible. Adding a limiter after the rack should help too.

Re: Dry / Wet Volume Issues

Check out the Zone features of rack chains. Specifically the ability to crossfade the chains, and then mapping the selector to a macro knob for wet/dry functionality.

Re: How to route external effects through akai eie pro in Live

How do people send drums to compressors when using ableton? Usually compressors are added as inserts on a drum track, so the External Audio Effect device doesn't have to be on a return track, especially since it has its own wet/dry knob. I don't use the External Audio Effect anymore, and I'm not in...

Nothing. I wouldn't have listened anyway.

Re: Windows Users - Moving To New PC?

No, I have some 7200 RPM HDDs I'll be bringing over from my current system.

Edit: I'll also be bringing over a dual-head GPU card (ATI V3600). For an audio interface, I'm using the Focusrite Forte.

I just purchased parts for a new build yesterday, so I'll be going through the same process in a couple of weeks. Thought I would post it here for others to see too. Re: ASIO Driver Issues with Live 9

Try the following. No guarantee it will help, but it's worth a shot. - Disconnect the Mobile Pre from your computer - In Programs & Features, uninstall anything related to the Mobile Pre (M-Audio, Avid, etc.) - Uninstall ASIO4All - Open a command prompt as Administrator, and run theses two commands:...

Re: ASIO Driver Issues with Live 9

Any particular reason for installing ASIO4All? Are the M-Audio/Avid native drivers for the Mobile Pre not sufficient?

Re: Drum Rack and Poor quality

After dropping your kick sample onto an empty drum rack pad, double-click the pad to open the device view (if it's not already open), which will contain a Simpler Instrument with your kick drum sample in it. In Simpler, below the sample view, and all the way to the right, you'll see parameters that ...
