Re: Which instrument do you like Programming/composing the most?

guitar lines, not riffs but complimenting lines. specifically clean electric lines or acoustic parts.

Re: extremely confusing price list

I generally agree... especially about being cheaper. Upgrading Live is not very competitive to other DAWs unless you hit one of their sales.

Re: Reason Synths Vs. Ableton Synths

master subtractor first. It's laid out so you can see everything visually, and it's pretty much just like any basic analog synth. It will be easier to thoroughly learn the basics with it. From there analog would be easy to learn as its pretty much the same except not laid out as plainly, simply beca...

recording audio, latency vs stability

I've been recording more audio with Ableton Live, doing more projects fully in it than in Pro Tools. The problem I've been running into though is latency while recording. When my buffer is at 128 my system is pretty stable, yet the latency is unbearable when recording vocals. If I switch to 64 then ...

Re: More feedback from Ableton employees

I'd personally rather them actually work on the program instead of posting on the forum about working on it.

how do you integrate your hardware synths with ableton?

Do you use the external instrument feature and save the preset to recall when you open the song? Or do you simply record the audio in not worrying about midi? Or any other unique ways of working? I'm fairly new to the hardware world, and have been using the external instrument feature. But I just ad...

Inverting phase of 1 channel of a stereo track

Is there any one in Live to invert the phase of one channel of a stereo track?

For example, in pro tools you can insert a multiple mono plugin with an invert phase option, unlink the plugin and then it will work with whatever side the plugin is controlling.

new instrument suggestion - drum kit designer

They have tension, collision, and electric for designing sounds, how about a dedicated percussion/drum kit designer? Maybe I'm slightly jealous of the new Kong instrument in Reason... Something like that would be awesome integrated right into Live.

Re: opened live today and all my songs play out of time...

for anyone else who may have this problem...

I've had this before and finally realized that my interface was set at a different sample rate than my session... ha. Felt like an idiot when I figured it out but hey, it happens.

Buffer settings - latency vs. snaps, crackles, and pops.

I haven't done much audio recording in Live yet, but I was recording some vocals yesterday and had numerous problems with it. I generally find a buffer setting of 128-256 works fine for most of my midi/loop work. For audio recording the latency was just to much for vocals. I set it to 64, and while ...

Re: assign effect parameters per clip ie: bypass?

wanted to bump this...

anyone know why bypass is not available from the envelope section of the clip?

Any way to automate the bypass for an effect on a clip by clip basis?

Re: Better Reverb

I have to say... I really love the Ableton reverb. "Warm Long" and "Long Ambience" are my two go to verb settings and sound great on clicky percussive tracks. If they decide to ever make another reverb I hope its just that... one in addition to this one. I personally wouldn't want them to change the...

assign effect parameters per clip ie: bypass?

is it possible to change parameters such as bypass on a clip by clip basis on 1 track? For example on a synth track I have simply chords during one scene, then I want a delayed arpeggio in another scene... Is there a way to assign the bypass on the one clip while keep the bypass off for the other cl...

Re: finding files from old live libraries

the drum files I was missing have now been found. Took a bit of digging... Still two simpler instruments that I can't find. I've downloaded all the legacy files that I could find... The files are "Lectric Piano.wav" and "String Machine.wav". A found a version of what seems like another entirely diff...
