Re: Midi Editor Preview enabled by default

I completely agree with this. There should definitely be an option for the midi editor preview to be defaulted to on. No more clicking on the little headphones all the time!

Re: Transpose from Am to A

If your bass line and stabs are midi then just change every C# to C, every F# to F, and every G#to G (basically any black keyboard notes to white). If the bass line is recorded audio, cut up each note that hits a C#, F#, or G# and again transpose it down 1 semitone. If the stabs are audio and they a...

Re: Beat The Clock

Have to say it is quite fun to see what everyone else came up with using the supplied sounds. So much variety! I stuck to only the supplied Live Pack for mine. Hope you enjoy: http://contest.ableton.com/tracks/1472 Wow! I love the new chord progression, lots of feeling and dynamic here! Sweet track...

smart spacebar that stop/starts clips on selected track

I feel like there has to be an easier way to make full use of Live's looping abilities when recording right off the bat. I'm thinking about a sort of smart space bar type function, where instead of the space bar stopping the track immediately, it will stop at the next global quantize beat/bar. My co...

Re: Why is Reverb so quiet? (And how to boost it?)

You are cutting out the meat of it with the filter for one. Try moving your lo cut down to at least 2.5khz. Right now it is at 9.64khz so anything coming through will just sound like high frequency noise.

Re: Monolake feature article

Agreed. There is always good stuff in his interviews it seems. I do wish they asked how he uses the session view, because in the first pic the screen looks like there is insane amount of stuff going on.

better keyboard shortcuts

Live doesn't really make that great of use with keyboard shortcuts. A few examples... the number keys, either on the 10digit keypad or the regular keyboard... don't really do anything. These could mirror transport controls, they could be used to set loop lengths, or cycle through automation lanes......

Re: Automate Loop end in sampler

Great idea! That does work, though I was using the M24 filter in sampler which I liked the sound of... Guess it's a tradeoff.

Automate Loop end in sampler

Is it possible to automate, or better yet map to a macro, the loop end point in Sampler?

Re: Please Ableton live!

I've always had the issue in Live of having a bit more latency on similar buffers when compared to other daws, as well as getting a lot of crackles and pops and lower latencies as opposed to other daws. But I've heard it is because of the nature of Live's engine, and being able to always keep playin...

Re: Which Ableton plugins do you never use?

I have to say I love the grain delay. I have a setting that I put on pads that gives this amazing texture to the sound, almost like a quickly strummed guitar. I also use erosion a fair amount and resonator occasionally. Just looking at the audio effects I have used most of them... I think beat repea...
