I'm not sure if you can do this with just midiox/yoke, but you can easily do this and a whole bunch of other midi/audio stuff with Bidule - http://www.plogue.com/

I wouldn't call it a joke (or even a fucking joke), but definitely not worth the asking price. They're doing a different take on it by making the lighting independent of button presses & responsive to midi/osc - I really think visual feedback is everything on a hardware controller & they're going ab...

Thanks a lot for mentioning this - I wish I'd known sooner! Here is the page where they mention it on their site, the complete manual just says you can put it on two computers & goes no further. You can use an ID on the same computer after de-authorising, but you have to do something drastic like re...

I can sympathise with that - I'm sitting at a perfectly capable desktop (which I've to sell in the coming days) and the Reaktor disc is feet away, but I'm not authorising it cos I've one challenge/response used up and am paranoid that NI won't give me a third when I need to change my laptop. I asked...

Well if you do have it it's not overkill - a tool's a tool, unless it's burning CPU... but I'd've thought even Reaktor would be ok with that if you're just making a monitoring interface. Actually I'm in the middle of rethinking my Trigger Finger layout for DJing - the big disadvantage with TF being ...

It's been a while so I can't remember the ins & outs but I'm pretty sure I followed the included instructions anyway - there's an unofficial motu forum at http://www.unicornation.com/ if it' any help

Re: My wishlist at this point

This is my full wishlist at this point. I'm repeating some things I've said before: 0) Find out what that 'poof' bug is, it's kind of scary. 1) Right click copy/paste of clips. 2) Leverage the 'lessons' feature by being able to pull up a text editor that takes a file name on the command line (same ...

Don't remember the faders/knobs, I'm afraid - I was trying it as a direct comparison to the Stage's action and I remember being pleasantly surprised.

Interesting that you thought the Stage was plasticky Machinate - just goes to show it's a very personal choice!

Ah - I missed the crucial line about the SL, so looks really are a big one then. It seems to me the only 88-keys out there that look good feel shite, and there aren't that many I've tried that feel good (though I'm fairly fussy about that). If you're on a budget you may have to make some compromises...

Have you played a CME? I know they're fairly rank looking in pictures but I had a *very* quick bash of one recently in Sound & Drumland in Berlin -- it wasn't even turned on, I was just sussing out the action -- and it didn't look so bad in person/machine. Out of all the keyboards in there (except t...

I used to have an account there as well - I'm thinking of signing up again as I got a crapload of jazz there (a 10-cd Bill Evans box set and 7-cd John Coltrane for instance, that was before the 90 download p/m limit  ). My only issue would be bitrate - everything was 128kbps when I last used i...
