I used to have an account there as well - I'm thinking of signing up again as I got a crapload of jazz there (a 10-cd Bill Evans box set and 7-cd John Coltrane for instance, that was before the 90 download p/m limit  ). My only issue would be bitrate - everything was 128kbps when I last used i...

This page says usb 2 is faster (480mb/s to Firewire 400's 400mb/s) but I suspect there may be other factors to consider like the amount of usb devices you have connected etc. Some time back I looked into pcmcia -> serial adapters. These can apparently give a bandwidth of 1.5Gbps. I wanted bus power...

[OT] I've a few days in Berlin!

I thought this would be a good place to ask like-minded people what are some good spots to visit - sights, sounds, music hardware stores -- esp. any that stock Nord since no-one does in Ireland & I'm itching to get my hands on a Stage?

Maybe the Abes might to give me the guided tour... :D

This will probably confirm my limited Live knowledge -- I tried that and can't record into the first clip (audio). I would've presumed I can since the track's record armed....

We could listen to the take and stop on a word we didn't like and highlight it and then keep looking through our pull down menu through the other takes and plug in take after take of the 10. This was all done on the same track without having 10 tracks opened below the original track. That could rea...

You're way ahead of me! I've recently also found Scale useful for getting the Library drum clips to work with my Battery kits -- I find since impulse only has 8 slots you get the same midi notes used for different sounds, so I run them through scale and re-record them to new clips. I know there's ea...

There's an instrument called Scale which lets you choose exactly which notes get tranposed to where - there's presets for different scales in there & there's a pack floating around somewhere with loads of extra ones - it's in the Live instruments folder. Is this what you're talking about doing? ...

Who cares what anyone looks like as long as the music is cool? You hit the nail on the head there. Mention BT and people always fall over themselves to criticise him - m'eh, who cares. The guy puts so much into his music I don't really give a crap aboot how he looks. He's one of the greats, IMHO. S...

If you're uninstalling again remember to get rid of the application data in c:\documents & settings\yourname\application data\ableton. This caught me out for a while. Good luck!
