pcmcia->sata adapters

I'm getting rid of my desktop but keeping one of its nice fast sata HDs. I was thinking of hooking it up to my laptop via pcmcia with something like this as they're quoting 1.5Gbps transfer rates. Anyone had any experience/joy/woe with these? I'm looking at using it for multitracking & streaming sam...

Handy app for Logitech mice

Just found this little 'unofficial' add-on to Logitech's Setpoint software that gives you the ability to assign functions/keystrokes to your various buttons -- including the ones that Setpoint normally doesn't let you program. Works really well with my Mediaplay mouse (which I highly recommend btw) ...

Some scary stuff here -- thanks for reminding me to look after my ears! I've been using only hps for the last 18 months primarily cos I haven't a decent set of speakers & find hps convenient anyway. When I get into Live I frequently find myself forgetting to take breaks & working into the wee hours,...

Me three. Ctrl-Alt-B for Browser! I often find myself double clicking (and sometimes dragging) the browser's right-hand-side bar to close it -- you can do this with clip view which is why I think it's more intuitive... Eh and user mappable keyboard shortcuts for everything! Rabble! Edit: And I think...

I like it! I know the subject matter was basic enough but I like the presentation. I'd agree with the comment on scripting the dialogue, though, and maybe the audio quality could go up a notch.

I would definitely be interested in seeing more of the same :)

Aah sweet, although you're right, the action's not quite the best on it, but I'm more than a bit too drunk to figure it out right now.... jeez.. you should be able to assign the colums to go left and right as well... It'd be very handy too. What' sthat 1 for in that little box, anyone? The one in th...

So that's what relative mode's for! I didn't think it was possible to scroll between rows... I'm just wondering, though, if it's possible to scroll up and down with a single rotary knob on the BCR? I'm guessing no as the 'down' row select button has a separate midi assign and I don't think you can a...

Just be sure to back up those .asd's - I spent a crapload of time warping a couple of weeks ago and then my external HD decided to stop responding (this can happen at any time with WinXP by the way). I just got my stuff back though, thanks to a lifesaving little app called File Scavenger. Much as I'...

You could try messing with the velocity curve settings? Or maybe just use a different preset, I know the various built-in ones are made for some very different applications
