Re: KO a guy during a performance without stopping music

Staged. A quick look on YouTube shows he's done the same thing during the same song in several different cities.

Re: Anyone know how to buy the full sound objects library?

The boxed version of regular Live also comes with a disc of content, from what I understand. But for the full enchilada of sound, you need to shell out for Live 8 Suite, which includes the sound processing engines as well as all the sampled instrument content. Boxed version also comes with the print...

Re: Is Live 8 safe to use live yet??!

Doesn't make a damn bit of difference how well it runs on my machine (and it does run well), running well on your machine is all that matters as far as you should be concerned. If it's crashed 3 times, you've got a problem and shouldn't plan on playing it out yet.

Re: APC40 TIPS --- Share Your Brainz!

anyone found the ideal APC 40 carrying case yet? Mono EFX 365 Bag - works very well for me, it's the ultimate gig bag. Holds everything, built in cable mgmt, waterproof, industrial rubber base doesn't get scuffed or let gear get wet no matter what gets spilled, riveted straps, etc. Big ups to Mono ...

Re: pops and glitches whilst running live

Seems to me you're light on both memory and CPU power. No easy way to combat the problem, since boosting the CPU means a new computer, and boosting the memory means extra cash and possibly getting a tech to do it for ya. You can try playing around with latency, but I doubt that or adding an external...

Re: Any news on a stable live 8 yet?

Sorry to hear it. I'm happy to report that not everyone's having that kind of experience. I've been running Live 8 since 8.0 shipped with no problems whatsoever on my MacBook Pro. I don't think I caught up to any of the 'bug fix' releases until 8.0.3 came out, and then bumped it to 8.0.4 when I upgr...

Re: iTunes just shat in my mouth (forgotten song info)

Now would be a good time to think about a solid backup solution. If you've got an external drive or Time Capsule (wifi router with server drive in it), you can use Time Machine to handle backup up all your stuff automatically. Then when something goes wrong, you can just enter Time Machine and 'wind...

Re: APC40 Track Selection behavior change in Live 8.0.4

It's not an APC40 thing, though I noticed it on my APC40 as well. It's the Live 8.0.4 update, which for some reason defaults to "select clip on launch" - once I popped into prefs and switched it back off, everything was fine.

Re: Does the demo version of Live 8 contain the entire soundbank

What they said. Download versions are light in the content department versus boxed versions, and Suite version is "extra large" in a big way. 4 discs in the boxed suite, 3 dvd's of additional instruments and assorted bits.

Re: I am so tired of Live Betas.....

So... don't use the betas! Normally I'd be all for checking out and working out the updates before official release (and providing feedback, like any good tester), but for the last several months I've been involved in a couple other programs and I haven't wanted to complicate things further by using...

Re: Logic Pro to Ableton transition anyone?

Your frustration with Apple wouldn't have anything to do with the dwindling support for PPC architecture, would it? I mean, you can fault 'em all you want, but PowerMac G4's got replaced by the introduction of G5 technology in 2003... That said, you're probably going to run into some performance and...

OT: FaceBook User Names

I hadn't seen this posted yet, so figured I'd toss it out there. At midnight EDT today (13 June), FaceBook started letting users select their own user name. That means that instead of your profile page being facebook.com/profile.php?*qp0932458723045... you can set it to be facebook.com/your.name Whe...

Re: im not upgrading to live 8 until

So stop being a drama queen, skip the thread tantrums, and just sit the version out. I've skipped a couple Live versions along the way (3 and 6, I believe), combination of features not compelling me and not having the spare $$ to upgrade simply because there's a new version out. Actually, in ...

Re: Dream Gear

Actually, having just gotten my APC40 a week ago and just today upgraded from Live 8 to Suite 8 I'm feeling pretty dreamy... but if money was no object, I'd go for a 49-key keyboard controller, second monitor, a full on Bag End sound system with ridiculously womp-tastic subs I could never turn up in...
