HD25 are very nice for field recording, because they easily fit in the front pocket of a petrol bag or whatever. They're not very comfy though if you're wearing glasses. In the studio I prefer AKG 271.

Hm, fans are definitely there for a (good) reason. Adjusting fan rpm without closely monitoring temperature of ALL the parts they're supposed to cool down doesn't sound like a very good idea to me. Have you tried to improve passive cooling instead, e.g. by lifting the MacBook from the table so that ...

Are you happy with the sound of Zebra? Absolutely! That's why I bought it. I'm not a sound designer. When I use a synth I usually need quick results. So I usually choose something from the presets section and then tweak a bit. My way is to try learning from the presets. (I used Operator for a while...

Live 6 + Zebra 2 = my new dream team!

When I used Live for the first time I almost immediately thought: This is it! Now I finally found a synth where that same thing happened and it's Zebra 2 ( www.zebrasynth.com ).

Just wanted to let you know how happy I am ... :D

I tried in vain to find the licensing terms on the u-he website. Can somebody tell me if you can install Zebra 2 on a desktop and a laptop if you buy only one license?

New Melodyne Plugin & Live?

I just got a message from Melodyne saying that they now have Melodyne available as a plugin. Has anybody tried it with Live already?

The fan of my old PowerBook and iBook has almost never been running at all. To tell the truth, I was really shocked when my PowerBook's fan kicked in for the first time about ten years ago, because I wasn't used to PC laptops noise level and at first thought that something was broken. But then it tu...

I wonder why you'd want to buy an extra preamp when the Fireface already has very nice ones. Did you make an A/B comparison with the TLM103?

You didn't write anything about what you're planning to use it for and/or which features you need.

I'd also suggest the new Boss Micro BR.
