The upgrade pricing is shown at the bottom of the "Live" and "Push" categories if you are logged in. "Shop" is only showing upgrade prices for current licenses to Live 8.

Re: Guitar amp modeling in Ableton: How to get better sounds

For third-party plug-ins, I've liked the sounds from Amplitube. I was able to dial in good sounds faster than with GuitarRig. Also have Waves GTR, but haven't spent much time with it. Other good options out there, but I think most will agree that Ableton's built-in amps and cabs leave much to be des...

Re: Anyway to use an iPad as a keyboard with Ableton Live?

The answer is yes, but there are a few ways of going about it. If what you want is the actual sounds that the iPad app is producing, then it is a matter of getting the audio out of the iPad either through the headphone jack, the dock connection, or by saving an audio file and transferring it to your...

Re: Recording a band in Ableton

If you're running everyone together, then your setup should be fine. A nice, no hassles recording to capture the weekend. You can concentrate your energy on where you want to record. My only suggestion would be to run the SansAmp so you get as close to an unaltered signal as you can and then use a p...

Re: Recording a band in Ableton

Another thread just got started on recording a band with Live, you may want to check on its progress. For your setup, I have a few questions and comments: Inputs: 1. 58A Mic for vocals - That sounds well enough. A better mic may be nice, but not necessary. What are your final plans for the recording...

Re: Ableton Live - Recording a full band?

I've recorded several live band performances with Ableton Live and haven't run into too many problems for my work, although there is potential for frustrations with Live's typical insistence with the beat grid. You may want to set the tempo on Live to match what the band is playing while recording, ...

Re: Newbie APC 40 Mapping

Posted on another thread, but applies here as well: If you're wanting to change the APC default behavior, it does involve python coding. This seems to be the best source on going down that route and also provides a really great alternate script with step sequencer functions and more: http://remotesc...

Re: E...........L..........P

An Epi Les Paul Standard shouldn't cost you more than $399, and their top of the line Ultra III typically sells for $750. Any Gibson is going to be over your budget. If you're only playing through your computer, I wouldn't spend my money on a Gibson. But like I said earlier, check out some of the ot...

Re: E...........L..........P

I would recommend not going in debt for a guitar purchase. Be on the lookout for the big box music stores' discounts. You may be able to get a 15% - 20% discount on a guitar. As for the sound you're trying to get, a Les Paul with humbuckers should suite you well, but also remember a lot of the class...

Re: running ableton live with 2 outputs

Follow process similar to what was mentioned previously: Main outs on Ch.1 mono Cue outs on Ch. 2 mono Have both tracks playing Deactivate the click track (click the track's yellow box so it turns gray) Set the volume on your audio interface so engineer gets a good signal level Cue both tracks and s...

Re: funk/hiphop bass

If you're dealing with muddy, you may want to look at gain staging on your mixer, string selection, and playing technique. Swapping out some of the bass' internal electronics or swapping out pickups should probably be last. I don't think your mixer has a direct input for high impedance instruments. ...
