Re: where to save my samples...
This is something I too struggle with. I need to go back and scrub through everything one of these days, but I tend to have my outside sourced samples (meaning not live packs or samples in the Live core library) saved in my own Samples folder on my hard drive. I also use Maschine, which is great for...

Re: Samples clipping in sampler
In the sampler instrument there is a volume box, adjust the volume accordingly. Although usually I find it to be too quiet, myself, as the default. If this isn't helping your clipping then drop a limiter effect on the track. This will basically limit the output of the overall track to what you deter...

Re: MacPro video Ableton content?
Olav is definitely good! I learn a crapload from him. If you have the dedication, you can watch everything you need to in a few months. My original plan was to signup for a month or two but I've been paying month to month for nearly a year now (wow, maybe I should signup for a year membership? dumb ...

Re: Your In-Flight Methods/Setups
Wow... this post just got out of control. I like it. How about I bring my studio monitors and have the people on each side hold them for me while I educate them on the proper listening angle for mixing? If they screw up I make them buy me a beer? I am an international rock-star afterall right? Wait,...

Re: Ableton 9 Mini Review
I have none of these problems and my computer has much worse specs than yours! Also, I find the live 9 browser way groovier because "I like to be able to go into live packs and pick the instruments instead of having to pick the instrument and then memorize which preset comes from which live pack" <-...

Re: how to "default" automation-lines?
not sure... but if I screw up on stuff like this I just delete all drawn in "points" and that tends to send the line back to it's default. Not sure if there's a way to just take one point and say "hey you point, go back to your default!" Guess you'll just have to remember what the default was before...

Re: MacPro video Ableton content?
I will echo what everyone else has said. Especially for NI and Live products. I have Maschine, Komplete 8, and Live. I had been using my Maschine for a while, and using Live for a long while before getting my MPV.com subscription. It's totally worth it! Youtube vids are nice, but not necessarily com...

Alright, laptop + keyboard it is! And, of course, I'm stuck in the middle row, in the middle seat, what a treat!

Your In-Flight Methods/Setups
Hey Live community! I'm flying from MPLS to Seattle soon and it's about a 3.5 hour flight. I thought I'd try and get some ideas down in flight and be productive while I'm doing nothing. So, I'm curious, what is your in flight method for making ideas? Do you guys bring mini portable controllers or ju...

Re: Packs from 8 -> 9
Seems like a lot of extra work siehorst. Go to the ableton site (which you're currently on), and go to the packs page. You can download each individual pack and then install to live9. I think thats easier than a system image/restoration. I got a new macbook in november 2012 and had live8 installed, ...

Re: Select which clips fire on Scene Launch
I don't know if I'm understanding correctly.. you want a delayed play for certain clips? eg - you have a clip that has hi-hats and when you launch the scene you DON'T want the hats to play, but then come right back in the next measure without having to launch another scene?

Re: Ok, Live 9, what you like/dislike?
I'm on 8 right now (was my first version), and I like it a lot. I still have issues warping non-EDM tracks, though (seriously, can warping be done easily without a four on the floor club beat?!?!). Otherwise I think I have a pretty good feel for what it can do and how my workflow fits in with it. Wo...

Ok, Live 9, what you like/dislike?
Guys, I'm probably going to update to Suite 9 this weekend (I think I only have until the 12th to save on the upgrade, no?). I've been reading through a lot of the posts and see some things people are diggin' and some not so much. What are your thoughts?
