Re: Another noobie question from a wandering 19 year old fool

I'll be honest here I think that should be on by default. I understand why you sometimes need to turn it off but on is kind of expected behaviour.

Re: Live Performance Setlists???

I run everything in one giant setlist (although rather more than one scene per song) controlled by a Launchpad. It's a pain to set up but makes life much easier at shows. I used to run separate sets for each song but as you suggest the load time is a problem. It only takes about 20-30 seconds but th...

Re: This note snapping behavior is stupid and should be fixed

I think there is only me and you who think that. I think there should be an option to have "normal snap mode" in addition to the smart snap. No, it annoys the hell out of me as well. At least it's not as bad as when it first appeared and trying to move notes vertically would reliably move them off ...

Re: Using M4L in a live performance?

If nothing goes wrong in testing nothing should go wrong on the night. Yeaah. I would disagree on that because practicing doesn't always factor in a lot of stuff that occurs in a live situation. There are known unknowns (power fluctuations and poorly filtered power, smoke machines, stumbling stage ...

Re: Using M4L in a live performance?

Always found it OK including my (simple) homebrews and ones from maxforlive.com. Caveat: I did find a glitch with the Max API device where if you map it to a macro it causes Live to crash on exit. The actual set and playing gigs were not affected, the main annoyance was that whenever you opened Live...

If you're running suite there's a Max MIDI monitor plugin.

Re: How to send MIDI pr. change to Novation Circuit Mono Station

Looking at the manual it looks like the program changes are on channel 16. The ctrl chooser is for continuous controllers not channels. If you have a track set the channel 16 and put the program change clip in there it might work. *However* this seems to change session (not sure what that is since I...

Would be nice to be able to do them all at once as a kit though.

Re: On what do you guys perform? eg tables, stands?

I velcro everything to a plywood top to a keyboard stand that I made myself, and carry it all to gigs on one flight case. The flight case has bits of foam glued in the lid to stop it all moving about in transit. All I have to do is lift it onto the stand and plug it in. Saves about 20 minutes pluggi...

I tend to use Max devices for this - controlchange8 works pretty well. http://roberthenke.com/technology/m4l.html

Re: [SEEKING] Ableton Live remote control for OSX

If what you want to do is let FOH mix you on the fly as if you were a band maybe an out the box alternative - run through an XR/MR-18 or similar and let FOH remote control the mix and EQ via that? Or is it vital that FOH canactually mess with the Live set? Downside - will cost a bit. So if you want ...

Re: Natural pitch correction - other than Melodyne

Waves says only Arrangement View is supported. At least with the simpler version I got it sounded wrong in Session and correct in Arrangement, so I'd say these are not the same. But I assume you have more experience with this than I do. Officially it's unsupported though. I ran it in session before...

Re: Natural pitch correction - other than Melodyne

I'm not saying it compares in all the features especially with Meolodyne DNA but the OP said he just wanted pitch correction on a monophonic track. It can be got very cheaply. The actual pitch correction seems fine (bought it as part of a super cheap bundle to replace AT after the AT upgrade price w...

Re: Natural pitch correction - other than Melodyne

Waves Tune is OK and has the advantage of being very cheap *if* you get it as part of a deal. Basically you have to sign up for their email and every so often it comes up super cheap. I think AT is possibly better in terms of naturalness (is that a word) but as you say not a lot of use on PC without...
