Re: Any easy way to lock parameters to Automation envelope?

This would be insanely useful. In some circumstances you can save as a preset then access it by pgm change but not all.

Simple sampler preset

Easy one this. Can we restore the simple sampler preset to the factory slice presets as well as the beat offset one. Yes, I know how to create my own, but try telling a room full of 16 year olds who are new to Live that they have to create their own preset before they can properly slice a sampler in...

Re: Latency midi Keyboard

Won't need ASIO4all with a focusrite interface. In audio settings, set input and output to the focusrite but most important in the top field make sure it is Focusrite ASIO (or similar, can't quite remember how it's worded in Win) Setting it to ASIO is very important as there will also be Windows dri...

Re: Sampler beat offset whyyyyyyyyy

But weirdly if you use the built-in slice to drum rack they are not one shots by default and the looping is on. So you have to build your own drum rack preset as well. Which, it turns out, is noticeably slower to load. Also no real global controls except for what you map to macros, which is really i...

Sampler beat offset whyyyyyyyyy

So When slicing to sampler in Live you get the option for "Sampler-Beat Offset" and a bunch of sampler presets with effects on them. Beat Offset shifts everything one semitone up so the sample with root C is played on C# etc. (although the zone mapping in the zone selector view does not show this, i...

Re: Question - MIDI Tempo Change Events ignored

Weirdly, although you can sync Live to e.g an external sequencer and recieve MIDI clock that way (including changes in tempo), I don't think it imports tempo events when importing MIDI files. However if all you want is to automate tempo changes and aren't worried about how, use the tempo automation ...

Re: MIDI ROUTING - multiple signal distribution

Actually now I think about it I'm an idiot - it's possible to send multiple MIDI tracks to one using the MIDI to field and setting the track to input monitor or record. Must have been half asleep before. So to sum up: Although each track is set up to only send to or recieve from one track - You can ...

Re: MIDI ROUTING - multiple signal distribution

Assuming you are talking about internal sources the first one is easy enough using track I/O - if you want to distribute one MIDI signal (say on track A) to two (or more )other tracks (call them track B and C) The on track B and C set the MIDI in to track A and turn on the input monitor. A MIDI clip...

Re: Session View v Arrangement View?

I write everything in arrangement and use session just for performance and it works fine. That was I think what it was originally designed for. But loads of people write in session view as well especially using Push, so worth a go to see if you find it easier.

Re: recording automation from external synth (Deepmind 12d)

OK so - You are correct that in your case MIDI channel is not really relevant since you have the track to recieve all channels anyway. And you aren't sending the cc just trying to record it. So it isn't that. - don't have a deepmind so tried cc recording off one of my Synths and cc recording works j...

Re: recording automation from external synth (Deepmind 12d)

cc info should be the track input field. Ext instrument is MIDI out/Audio in only so won't pick up MIDI - I generally use a separate MIDI track for recording stuff like this. Deepmind does send MIDI cc according to the manual so a spearate MIDI track with the Behringer as the input set to record sho...

Re: Sending MIDI CC to active chain only?

I can only imagine it's a bug. I mean it says "chain selector filters MIDI ctrl", but it doesn't. If you find a better workaround let me know.....

Re: Sending MIDI CC to active chain only?

OK so the workaround I can think of is Put your VST in a sub rack inside the rack Map the parameters you want to Macros in the sub rack (not the main rack) Use blue hand to select the sub rack you want (the sub rack not the VST) Only those macros will then be affected not macros on other tracks Limi...

Re: "Consolidate Time to New Scene" with automation?

You could route the group into a separate audio track using the track I/O (this track will now be just a bus for the group) and put the compressor in that track instead. credit due: this isn't my original suggestion, it was suggested by yur2die4 on another thread relating to return channels (where y...

Re: "Consolidate Time to New Scene" with automation?

I had a bit of a panic when I saw this as I use this function a fair bit and I wondered if there was a bug or something. Turns out it works if the automation lock button on the top right is turned off in arrangement. If you consolidate to new scene with it turned on automation does not copy, turned ...
