Re: Is there a way of caching network files in windows

... Is there a way of getting the filesystem (or use another network filesystem) to cache the files that have been read recently to the local drive so that live is not constantly reading across the network? ... Live does not have builtin features to accommodate this. In Windows you could use the Sh...

What does MOTU have to say about this?

I started with some very early Yamaha PSR keyboard with about 25 key's and 7 sounds. Given away to family. Then came the Kawai FS680 keyboard, very nice but i needed something better so i got a Roland D-20 instead. The Korg X5D came. And then the expanders came, Roland JV-2080, Korg TR-Rack, Waldorf...

So, let's say a clip is already playing and I want to record a new clip with a different sound . I must record it in a new track so it can have a different sound (vsti program), right? Finally, I have created 15 different midi tracks. In the first five of them I have loaded B4 , in the five next Pr...

In my judgment a VSTI is an MIDI-instrument like all others, so you have to do program changes in the clips. Mapping names is not a feature within the Clip MIDI Editor.

On the other hand, in Live 6 you can use Instrument Racks, those are very powerfull!

... Anyway, people who own a lot of hardware seem to be either sound engineers or keyboard player. hardware allows a more intuitive access for designing sounds. professionals or hobbyists, who cares? If you get the job done with less gear, your revenue is higher. so the chance you can make a living...

Create an audio track in Ableton Live. In this track select Audio From "Ext. In" and pick the right...

I have experienced the power of sampler already and I like it very much by now. Just looking if this l...

... I personally don't need 1800 waveforms...I have collected many hundreds of waves for free. But it is a lot of work, and if I was just starting out, I'd think $30 is worth the work that goes into creating and cutting 1800 single-cycle waves. I make music for many years now, mostly hardware synth...
