Re: Viewing Windows plug-ins

In Win7 64 bit it's best to always install VSTs in a folder outside of C:\Program Files... because this is a folder that needs administrator rights to modify anything in it. Some VSTs don't like this for some reason. The best thing to do is to make a folder in the ROOT of C:\ such as C:\VstPlugins a...

Re: How do I change the octave for my LDP8?

There is no transpose button on the LPD8 as you know but you can set the pads to be any note you want. Use the LPD8 editor and set Prog 1, 2, 3 and 4 to be different octaves. Or put a Pitch MIDI effect before you instrument/drumrack ans use that. I would still rather just have transpose button on th...

Re: MIDI Clock only sent when Live is playing?

When I was messing with the arpeggiator and beat repeat on my MPK49 a while ago I found out the same thing. It's annoying.

Re: MPK 49 Arpeggiator timing issue.

Did you get it to work?

Like I said, the one built into Live is way more useful anyway.

Re: New User to Ableton & Massive. Questions on issues (vid)

I saw that you where trying to play those 2 different tracks with Massive while you still had the track called BASS armed. What happens when you click on the little red ARM button at the far right of each track then play notes? You have to ARM a track before you can play it. Just clicking on the tra...

Re: MPK 49 Arpeggiator timing issue.

The arpeggiator on the MPK isn't anything terribly useful. Syncing Live with the MPK's clock never works well so you will need to sync the MPK to LIVE to get it to work correctly. This will cause the Tap Tempo button to become useless (and it'll stop blinking all the time which is nice). This is wha...

Re: Big Room Synths, why do they elude me?

Yeah, look into the history of the Supersaw http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland_JP-8000#The_Supersaw , it's interesting synth geek stuff. So much of this type of music is based on slowly manipulating a bunch of slightly detuned SAW waves. Open up any VST and look for a preset that's named something ...

Re: Loading Ableton projects after fresh Windows install.

Yes. Your projects don't care were your VSTs are installed as long as Ableton Live knows where they are and they show up in the Live Browser it should work. TIP#1 - Since you're doing a fresh install here's something I tell everyone using Win7 64bit. Install ALL your VST in the same place and make s...

Re: to clear things up

If you are using ASIO4ALL then I believe that is how it works. A REAL audio interface (external USB or Firewire box) will usually let you use ASIO in Ableton Live and still have sound in everything else on your computer. My Echo soundcard, for example, lets me use ASIO in Live and just regular Windo...

Re: Any Windows users like their PreSonus Firesudio Mobile?

What OS are you using it on now? I like that PreSonus just have one driver package for all their stuff and I know that OpenLabs trusts them enough to use their interfaces. I wish this guy was usig Win7-64bit but as long as the PreSonus doesn't mind 32bit Vista it should be good. I'm gonna have to ta...

Any Windows users like their PreSonus Firesudio Mobile?

Do any of you use Live with a PreSonus Firesudio Mobile in Windows (Vista/Win7)? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNO3byybm9Y It looks really nice but I'd like to known if they're good at making Windows ASIO drivers. This would be for someone who has what I believe to be a regular TI Firewire chip in ...

Re: Your fav. USB audio interface with stable Windows drivers?

So you're saying that RME is good with their Windows (Vista/Win7) drivers.
The funny thing about these companies is that they can make great hardware but they don't seem to test their Windows drivers very well.

Your fav. USB audio interface with stable Windows drivers?

I wouldn't mind getting a new soundcard/audio interface sometime but someone I know is also interested so I'm gonna ask a question that might have many answers. Which interface would you guys recommend for my Win7-64bit system or his Vista-32bit system? ( I wish he would just move to Win7 but re-ins...

Re: How does this laptop rate for a pure audio setup?

I´m planning on having the OS, the three programs(Ableton, TP2 and Maschine) on the SSD, along with whatever factory content comes with Maschine(when I eventually get it), and my mp3 collection on a seperate detachable hard drive. Depending on how much space I have left after that, I might also put...
