Re: Akai MPK88 problems

Under Options/Preferences/MIDI Sync/Control Surfaces so you at least get MPK49? The only difference between an MPK49 and an 88 (other than the keys of course) is 4 more rubber pads.
You also need Track and Remote set to ON for that device.

Re: Cannot add FL studio vst into ableton?!!!

So, you have the IL Gross Beat.dll in the same folder as all your other VSTs? Have you tired right clicking on the Ableton Live shourtcut and choosing Run As Administrator? Sometimes you need to run Live as administrator at least once to get certain plugins to work, then you can go back to running L...

Re: switching from full screen to ..

If you go the the View menu you will see that it says F11 next to it. F11 is the shortcut for going fullscreen and getting back out of fullscreen.

Re: Record audio streams and CDs?

Is here any special reason why you want to record a stream form an audio CD instead of just ripping it with Windows Media Player (or something similar)to a .WAV or .MP3 file?

Re: Making a vinyl stop effect

You can also use Tapestop (which sound like vynil stop too)
http://www.kvraudio.com/get/826.html

If you're a FL Studio user on Windows you also might have Image Line's GrossBeat VST which can do this.

When moving to another computer it' also good to do a "Collect All And Save" to all your projects so you don't lose anything.

Re: I'm considering purchasing a new, non-Apple, laptop

That's just weird. I've never had any problems with any modern USB devices. Since Windows 7 (and even Vista) I've really never had to even install drivers for anything USB. You've definitely had some bad luck. My Akai MPK49 and Akai LPD8 just work when I plug them in with no installation of any soft...

Re: Annoying beep/bell sound when pressing the play button

That would probably mean that the beep isn't coming from Ableton Live and is just ones of the Windows system sounds. Go into the windows control panel and find where you can change system sounds. Select one and then press the play (or test) button and see if it's one of those sounds. It's probably D...

Re: freeze/flatten leads to double sized audio clips

I found that weird at first but I guess it's useful.
You have to move the start marker over to the left loop marker then choose Crop Clip(s) if you want to remove all the extra stuff.

Re: Recording an external synth

I don't know about the freezing but just a thought about making the setup simpler. Have you tried... - connecting the Axiom Pro 49 with USB to the computer instead of connecting it directly to the Virus synth - plugging the MIDI OUT of the Traktor Kontrol S4 to the MIDI IN of the Virus Classic - con...

Re: Automating Cakewalk VST Instruments

It's weird that certain VSTs just don't let you automate anything.
I don't have Rapture but this is how it's supposed to work. http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?high= ... =1#2362412

This doesn't work in Dimension Pro for some reason.

Re: Connecting a Synth..

From this post I'm guessing you have one of the Virus synths that DOESN'T have a keyboard otherwise you wouldn't also be using a sepearte MIDI controller keyboard. Which model Access Virus synth do you have? If so, does it have a USB connector on it? Alright when I get home tonight ill try what you ...

Re: Pitchbend, etc. only recorded in the CLIP not in Arangement?

OK, I just managed to record pitchbend in it's own lane in the arrangement view. This will only work with VSTs that expose their automatable parameters to Live. I used Sylenth to test this out. click Unfold Device Parameters (the black triangle) click the configure button that appears (it turns pink...

Re: The Best S.O for Ableton on Windows

Windows 7 64bit has been fine for most people. I'm assuming you have the 64bit version Have you noticed how you don't hear much about it? That's because most people don't have anything to complain about and you only hear about products when people are having trouble. If you had more than 4GB of ram ...
