The little keyboard button on the top right toggles between using the qwerty keys as a midi keyboard and for key commands.

On a MAC, control-click on the Live icon, and select "Make Alias." Not all elements are available, but you can open multiple instances of Live, though you can't copy/paste between them.

I hope we can satisfy the hardcore/advanced users and the newbies, and I have copied a lot of this info to keep in mind for upcoming projects. There's...

You can also use Live, especially with version 5 markers. Turn of quantize, set new markers where you want tracks to end. Loop to next marker using right click, export (or split and consolidate) You'll need some other software like Toast to burn, with 2 seconds on the first track and zero on the res...

To open two copies of Live, make an alias. Open as many as you want, though you won't be able to copy and paste between them.

Thanks for the comments/criticisms, we're taking notes. It would be great if someone were to post in the forum about what kinds of movies/lessons/tutorials you'd like to see? There are three or four more Robert videos in the works, keep in mind that these are to be viewed by all kinds of Live users,...

KB uses Bome MIDI translator, a small PC app that sends multiple keystrokes at once -- so he could say, record enable a track and change quantization at the same time. His footcontroller is a Ground COntrol. The FCB 1010 works well too, but he likes how the Ground Control fits in his suitcase. It's ...

Kid Beyond uses keystrokes to change quantization settings depending on the situation. And yes, the sound for the shows was done with a camcorder mic, the quality of which we had no control over, as the footage was (nicely) provided by his manager. Trying to bring in pro recording setups to shows is...
