APC20 and Live7.0.18

Just got my APC20. So happy! But it's not going to work with my version of Live, is it? It recognizes the controller in the pref pane but I only have an apc40 option. If I set it up for the apc40 it doesn't work... getting a midi signal but no red box and not doing anything. I can't afford Live 8 so...

Re: Modelled Acoustic Guitar - pay what you want

I do like free stuff... but I still don't like guitar emulations. The example sounds better than I lot I've heard but its not my cuppa tea. Rather spend all day (I'm rubbish at guitar) trying to play the sound I wanted on a real acoustic.

Re: Kick Layering tutorial (video)

Just watched your snare and kick layering tutorials. Really liked them but just had a quick question about the snare tut... How come you put an eq8 on the overall mix to increase the air after you'd already eq'd those frequencies out of the equation? Why not just go the the original eq's on the the ...

Cropping midi clips

I've read this is possible in live8, but I only have version 7 and was wondering if anyone had any tips on doing this more efficiently?

Re: Bus powered devices, system drain? ..and APC20 question.

Cheers, powered usb hub is a great idea! Needed to invest in a hub anyway when I get the extra controllers, didn't even consider powered ones. But just to be clear, does anyone know if it will affect the overall system performance? How can one test? Never noticed power spike in cpu on Live except wh...

Re: Help with vsts

Automap isn't a plug-in as such. It maps the parameters of plug-ins to midi controllers that support the automap software.

Unless you have some novation or mackie gear it isn't going to work (as far as I'm aware).

Bus powered devices, system drain? ..and APC20 question.

I'm thinking about getting either a novation LP or akai apc20. I want the akai for quality (I'm on my 3rd remote sl so i'm not really a fan of novation's craftsmanship so far). However I love the convenience of bus powered devices ie. the launchpad. I was wondering... what kind of drain am I putting...

Novation Remote SL problem

Hey, I have the remote zero sl and its great... but every time I want to change a midi control setting on my custom maps, it resets back to the automap setting. I don't really understand how the setup works in ableton's preferences (just copied it off a website and I know it communicates now!) I'm s...

Re: simpler/sampler...

How many beats is the sample? If its quite long you don't want to be using simpler/sampler; just warp it and drag it into the arrange view or leave it as a looped-clip (or whatever you need it for). If you just want a single guitar 'stab'/note/chord use simpler/sampler. If it is a bit longer, why no...

Warping question...

I like precise warping and with tracks that haven't been recorded with a metronome, I will (sometimes) put a warp marker on every kick or every first snare hit (ie. 1.2, 9.2, 15.2 etc). Is there any way to automatically place a marker on every beat or every 'XX.2'? Its so much easier to flick along ...

Re: Crashed Session; What do YOU do?

Do you use the undo feature in ableton? If so, you shouldn't have a problem just restarting a crashed set because it basically just recovers your work from the undo history. I only get seriously pissed off when the thing that crashed my set is immediately active when I try to recover... resulting in...

Re: Complex Warp Mode

If you are DJing you definitely want to be in complex warp mode. If you have songs that are dramatically different tempos and you want to mix them together, complex is the only choice; all other modes sound awful in comparison.
