Edit : well actually, now that I have updated, the slpashcreen is the colorfull one, with ableton live 8, instead of the black/grey and white of the Suite version...

Re: Amount of time to install 8.0.5

ok, this time, as a suite user, I tried to just folow the update, via menu -> update... it obviously made me download the normal live version 8.0.5, when I launched it, it took around 10 minutes to install everything, updated my library at 16%... At the end, it told me that latin percution have been...

Being a good engineer doesn't mean you're a good artist.

Re: No One Came To My Gig :(

1. Never rely on friends to support your music. 2. All invited friends assume "Others are going so I won't be missed", which would be true except they are ALL thinking the exact same thing and none of them show up. 3. If you don't show up to support other people, whether it's a gig or a birthday pa...

Re: do you write tracks while compressing master?

I voted 'yes', but I try to lose this habit. I think it's a 'noob' habit. Because of the tools we have today, we are able to to do the writing, the mixing, and the mastering process in the same time. Which, in my opinion is not wrong, but is a huge waste of time. You better stick to the plan : write...

Re: Amount of time to install 8.0.5

I'm always lost when it's time to update Live. Here is what I used to do everytime : I've got the suite version (download). I download the new SUITE version (more than 1gb). Remove the old version (everything, library, etc...) install the new one and put the Serial. That was okay cause I didnt have ...

Re: Workstation or program best integrated w/Live for arpeggios?

I use Reason 4 and his RPG, rewired into ableton. It's pretty simple, 2 tracks : 1 midi in Live, send to reason, and 1 audio track in live, input from reason. Done.

Re: Is COMPUTER MUSIC Magazine a Good Buy?

That's what I did for the last 2 years : go to a big library where you can read for free. Then skim through CM, MT, FM and SOS , and just read what I found interesting. If the whole magazine was interesting, then I bought it. I have to admit that so far, CM was the magazine that brought me the most....

Re: [ot] 40 facts about sleep you probably didn't know..

yeay, I had some little insomnia before, I read lots of thing about it, and I fixed it : put the alarm at 8am (I personally like to put at 8:08, or 9:09, you know why...), and don't touch it ever ! Now as soon as you hear the alarm, forget about the "10 minutes more", and wake up. That will make you...
