Re: I want a bad ass hardware compressor!

ok guys, I think I get it ;)
I personally like the multi-compressor, it gives me that wow effect even if I don't understand how it works (yet! ) .

Re: I want a bad ass hardware compressor!

For software compressor, what's wrong with the Live's compressor, is the diiference with, let's say, UAD compressor that big?
Can I make a "commercial" track (a hit!) with inbuild Live's effects?

Re: name one professional

Don't buy Live. We don't need that attitude right out the gate. Go buy a Pro Tools HD system, or Cubase, or Logic. Many pros use those. Nobody on the radio uses Live exclusively. Get a MPC too. You'll find all these comforting to know that if your music sucks it's you and not the tools you are usin...

Re: Undooo - an OS X thing?

Has this "problem" been introduced in the 8th version? I don't remember this behavior in 7 or 6. Anyway that sucks. Really strange for such a good app.

Re: Can Ableton Auto-Slice Audio Recycle style?

Yes, ableton let you slice audio with transient, warp makers, or by rate. It's already awesome, but moreover, it automaticaly assign every slice to a key of your controler/keybord with drum rack with possibilities to go even further with sampler, effects, etc, on each slice. Simply awesome, recycle ...

Re: When I loop MIDI...

If the note starts before the loop, you will not hear it.
A solution is to activate "Record Quantization", in the Edit menu.

I hope it helps (that would be my first help on this forum , yay ! )

Re: Drum Machines Quality

tkx guys for your answers. ok I actually have no money (yet ! ) to buy hardware stuff, and from your answers, it seems that I can continue to use Drum machine live pack without worries. Once I'm fed up with the samples, I'll look somewhere else, and once I'm rich, I'll buy a linndrum for t...

Drum Machines Quality

I really like to play with Drum Machines Live Packs. I especially like the linndrum, 808 and 909 kits. However, since I've never had the chance to play on a real Linndrum or 808, I'm wondering what is the objective quality of those Live packs. Would I gain anything to have a real drum machine or tho...

Re: Logic 9 out!

On the logic pro 9 "In action" page, there is a video of NIN, with Raznor saying that he "will never go back with something else (than logic pro)" ...
In the Ableton artists, there is NIN ... hum

Re: Logic 9 out!

I said bye bye Recycle when I start using Live (recently acutally). Slicing option are I think really important and it's not suprise that other DAWs go in that direction. So now Logic can do easy slicing stuff... Does that make it better than Live? I don't know if I missed something with logic pro 8...

Re: Your Favourite Effect.....?

I put sidechained compressor everywhere, and not only sidechained by the kick drum, but also some combinaison of synth sidechained by other sounds...

Sometimes I also used a sidechained gate instead of a compressor...
