Re: PDC -- what is it? why has it never bothered me?

disagree, it was a conscious decision made by the people that designed Live to not include this feature. they've published that Live doesn't have PDC, it's in the manual. Go and read the manual of Live 8.0.1 when it was freshly released ! No word of not right or partial working PDC !!! That was add...

Re: PDC -- what is it? why has it never bothered me?

I'd just like to echo the comment about workarounds not being workarounds; "bouncing" isn't a workaround. It's a different thing. At best, as someone else here described it, it's a different workflow. In general, I am happy to work within the constructs of software I use. In fact, Live shapes workf...

Re: I give up, Ableton, I really do. PDC/timing/hardware issues,

New Sonar X2, Cubase SX 7 and Studio One are better options these days...
More features and stability for the same or less money.
On top of that they work how promised.

Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT ?

16 pages but no answer from Abletons side speaks for it self...! They could lie and look bad or say it doesn't work and look stupid. Both not a good option for selling software. Some peoples suggestions to leave Live and use another software hurts the selling too. If someone would tell others to aba...

Re: Ableton is the best

Tell me one mastering engineer or studio that uses Live for mastering, then I'll pull back my comment ! ...but for a amateur mastering it's totally fine and acceptable. Yep. From the point of view of mastering engineers and professional mastering studio use, there are format considerations and othe...

Re: audio to midi like live 9?

I use beside Live, mainly StudioOne with Melodyne integrated. Take any audio and add it on a track with Melodyne. Drag that audio from the Melodyne track onto another empty midi track, and boom you have extracted the audio to midi !!! Takes just a millisecond and done in one move...! No menu opened ...

Re: Ableton is the best

Nah, simpli.cissimus, I think you're starting to veer off the mark and go into unrealistically negative territory :P Especially when using 3rd party plugins, Live is surprisingly versatile, and the resulting quality is top notch. There are problems for sure (I'm particularly upset about automation ...

Re: Ableton is the best

Some people here act similar like Football-Hooligans defending his team no matter what. This includes ridiculous comments and pointless reasons. But all that is no reason to be blind... I am sure you love Live, and so am I too... I wouldn't be here if not ! ...on the other side I stay honest to Live...

Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT ?

On my behalf, I can honestly say I wasn't expecting basic automation to be out of sync in Live 9 any more. I will continue using Live 8, it's a wonderful tool and the main environment I use (and enjoy using) - but damn am I disappointed in this omission. It's tragic we're even discussing this, it s...

Re: Ableton is the best

+1 I don't know why certain folks feel compelled to shove Live into the it-can-do-everything-daw-category. It's called "Live" for a reason, many seem to forget that. Ableton is the company name, Live is the product name  One observation I've made when I watch alot of producers work in the stud...

Re: LIVE 9 : PDC IMPROVED OR NOT ?

…so, tying up this loose end… since PDC is a complex issue. Does anyone want to comment on whether the automation-timing issue with plug-in delay has apparently been addressed in the present beta of L9? I don't expect it going to be different as in Live 8. This whole new version is not a progress f...
