a question about all the presets in the live libary

Rather than bother support (who probabally have their hands full with M4L) I thought I'd ask you helpful forum users. I have Live 8 normal, and Max For Live, but couldn't really stretch my budget to the other instruments. So why does live do this? Surely it should not be displaying loads of presets ...

Re: anyone got any tips for making big orchestral splits?

thanks for the replys and links actually the exact thing i wanted was in the instrument racks. I don't have Sampler btw. I found this tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrUFy8xJioE Rather than use simplier like in the tutorial you can dump Kontakt (and i'm sure therefore also the VST you use f...

anyone got any tips for making big orchestral splits?

Hi Forum Okay so when I am alone, a slightly sad hobby of mine (make of it what you will) is to forget about the electronic music and pretend I am an orchestra using a select few very good presets on my Korg TR (i'm too lazy to bother programming anything on it). Yes I like to pretend I am the WHOLE...

Re: New Turntable Toy

i'm just curious, but how would that work anyway? I'm not a DJ but I enjoy messing with the crossfader on the APC from time to time with two tempo synced mp3s from my collection. But basicly ablton never struck me as being compatible with turntables (I mean it was never orginally meant for DJing), n...

Using more than 2GB RAM in a sesson, that's not exactly minimalism is it, more a train wreck...

i'd have to give myself lashes if I used that much RAM, because I would have been a very bad boy

Re: how do i get the APC40 working as a step sequencer

mescalin, did you get the cs sequencer working with feedback on your apc? no actually sorry, i even found the actual lessons which have come a long way since i last looked in there, it has all the explanation and even a direct link to the set, i still do not get the actual visual feedback (with the...

Re: Who wants "Glitch" plug for mac? No need with Able

so rather than rely on a plugin, has anyone got any good example glitch racks using just lives built in stuff?

I'm a PC user who is just trying to remove unnecessary plugins, Occam's razor to my vst folder basicly, i have to admit subtle use of DB Glitch has been useful but I'd rather use lives racks

Re: computerized sting cover (shape of my heart)

really enjoyed it, good work :) kinda reminded me of the sugarbabes version, that was very electronic Hi mescalin, I didn´t know of the sugababes version until my little rnb-girl (june heric) said to me that I´ve covered them. Kinda ironic because she didn´t know the original artist. She´s 19 and I...

Re: Experimental Generative Pieces

you just press and button and it makes music for you. I don't think it's possible to just press a button and have Live make music for you, there has to be some effort in sculpting the sound and it's here where your technical skills come in to play. Yes, some people are happy with directionless rand...

Re: how do i get the APC40 working as a step sequencer

thanks for the reply dude, i am using the right max device now then, i thought the APC was going to work with the new sequencer? okay so it dumps notes into the clip, but it does not have any visual feedback, just still displays the clips in the clip launch bit, pretty lame. Anyone else get this wor...

Re: Experimental Generative Pieces

like most generative music, it dosn't really work sorry, it just ends up sounding directionless. It won't stop us searching however, kinda like a musical holly grail, you just press and button and it makes music for you. I think there is a place for randomness in music, it helps inspiration and disc...
