On the software side, Ableton Live Suite last April, then added some synths like the Sylenth1 (discounted group buy purchase) and the thanksgiving Reaktor 5 deal. Hardware, the APC40.

Re: Favorite Underground Music during 1980-1990
One of my favorite bands growing up in the 80's were The Lotus Eaters. They're more "pop" than "underground" though. They recently played The Philharmonic Hall live in Liverpool and it's great to hear they haven't lost the touch. Here are clips on YouTube of that concert... http://www.youtube.com/wa...

This might be a cheaper alternative for you. ($29.95)

QTronix Libra 90

Not sure about the build quality though.

Re: track ball mouses - on windows?
I have two of the 64213. One still in the box unopened. I love using it so much that I bought a spare one. So far, no problems with the first. I have used it since 2001. Just shows the longevity of these trackballs. I'm using it with XP without any problems. I haven't used any other mouse since. Not...

Re: Any really good Bass VTS's out there?
My main go to synth for bass is the Novation Super Bass Station (the hardware).
There's a soft synth version of it but have never tried it. Whether it's close to the hardware I do not know.
For soft synths, I use Massive and Sylenth1.

Arthur Baker-The Man Who Rocked The Planet (Great Interview)
Somebody linked a video interview of Kerri Chandler in another forum and while browsing, found this great interview with Arthur Baker, the man that gave us "Planet Rock". He talks about how the Planet Rock came about, snippets of his work with New Order, remixing Springsteen, and basically gives a v...

Re: Echo Indigo IOx (Expresscard Audio Interface)
Yeah. it sticks out quite a bit but it's thicker compared to the PCMCIA kind although not as wide. The card itself is probably half wide compared to the old one, it goes in with a spacer if you're shoving it in a 54mm expresscard slot to give it more stability.

Re: Echo Indigo IOx (Expresscard Audio Interface)
I have the Indigo DJx (2outs instead of 1 input and output),and yes, I agree with all your points. ALways loved Echo Audio products for laptops. I still have an old Indigo IO (PCMCIA) on my old laptop and they sound great.

Re: Melodyne Editor
Are you saying that instead of purchasing Studio for $569, it's better to purchase Cre8 for $309 now and come november it will be upgraded for FREE to Melodyne Studio and Melodyne Editor? That seems unreal. Well the website says: You own Melodyne cre8. If you registered your copy of Melodyne cre8 b...

Re: DIY production desk
If you were local, I have a maple Studio RTA Creation Station in my garage. Upgraded to a Producer. It's all assembled and in mint condition. I will be putting it up on Craigslist one of these days for maybe half the price. Here's a pic of my Producer Station. I modified it quite a bit. Took out the...
