Re: No delay compensation for Automation??

I use most of the major DAWs for Mac and I'm late to the Live party. Desperately trying to finish my first arranged project in Live today, and came across this problem. For all the fun of playing around with scenes etc in the early stages of the tune, my workflow has now ground to a halt due to hor...

Re: RIP MCA

Impossible to overstate how much joy the Beastie Boys music gave me when I was growing up. Saw them on the Check Your Head tour as a kid, fantastic. My best friend Emil & I would rap along to the entirety of Paul's Boutique. Such fond memories, such great music. RIP Adam Yauch, he wil be missed.

Re: 64 bits is now areality

Live 9 will be 64 bit, don't worry. It'll come out when it comes out. The longer it takes, the better it will be.

Re: Hard or soft.. which are you ?

I just heard a real ssl. Compressor. Wow it's much better than my waves ssl emulation Yeah somethings are really hard to do in software. All tube emulations come to mind, I'll use them, but not a single one sounds like real tube distortion when compared side to side. Sure, certain settings on a tub...

Re: Question about learning Music Theory and Performance

If you want to learn music theory, chord theory etc. I would suggest finding a local piano teacher. Ask around for some recommendations and tell the piano teacher you're not looking to learn how to be an expert piano player, just interested in using it as a tool to lean theory. It's much better to l...

Re: MAKE KONY FAMOUS!

Great piece by a journalist who actually went there to get the story. Fantastic piece of journalism. Explains the history of the LRA, the horrors they perpetrate, the sketchiness of the Ugandan army hunting Kony, and the plight of the villagers caught in between. Must read if you're interested in th...

Re: Fabfilter Saturn

Holy buckets! In the 2nd half of the video, check out the multi-band & modulation capabilities. The visual layout of the multi-band feature is fantastic, this is where Fabfilter's unique GUI really shines. So excited.

Re: Fabfilter Saturn

I think a year ago or so on the Fabfilter forum there was either a topic, or they themselves asked what plugin they should build next, can't recall which it was but a tape saturation/distortion plugin was pretty close to a consensus choice. Get paid on Friday, can't wait to get this. Love Fabfilter ...

Re: Fix Sidechain mistake 1 of 2 ways ?

For now, increasing the compressor's side chain input gain 14.5db seems to work fine. Let me know if anyone has any thoughts on the situation. Thanks.

Fix Sidechain mistake 1 of 2 ways ?

Bounced all my midi drums to audio, have an Operator sine wave sub (& some pads) side chained to the kick. Forgot sub compressor's SC input was post FX from the kick, not Post Mixer, so now there's a 15 db (!) difference in what the sub bass compressor is detecting/listening to. I had the kick chann...

Re: 12 ways to triple your productivity & make more tunes.

Personally I find setting myself stupid challenges or trying something which has nothing to do with writing a song to a more productive way of going about things. Try making the hugest kick drum of all time or something and eventually your mind will start to wander away from the task in hand. This ...
