Re: RIP Technics

I had to pipe up when i saw some of these replies.... finally!, what took em' so long to let the dinosaur die? can't wait for the day they disappear in clubs entirely. Why? They're f*king awesome and need some skill to operate. I may be old fashioned but I for one wish there were more Technics turnt...

Re: Samplitude user disses Live as 'shit for mixing in' at GS

Well, if there is a difference I cant hear it and I will continue to use Live as it's a great tool for making music.

I think that's the point really- if the musical content is good, who cares?

Concentrate on making music!!

Agreed.

He also told me of a guy he knew who was diagnosed with that condition where you randomly fall asleep throughout the day. The guy didnt mention it to his manager and continued driving his bus.

Scary shit!

Re: OUCH!! I've been 'ripped off'

I would, but I don't have any specific examples - he doesn't mention names when he's bragging. Oxfordshire eh? I'm in Oxford. I saw three students on bikes crash into each other this morning. It was well funny. Ha ha! Excellent!! I dont live in oxford itself but I live in a village about 10-15 mile...

Re: OUCH!! I've been 'ripped off'

I work with a guy who openly admits that he makes good money from ebay scams.... he also runs affiliate sites and regularly floods his competitor's sites. Needless to say, he's an absolute cunt. He just doesn't seem to see anything wrong with it - he brags all the time. Interestingly, his family's ...

Re: is this considered "cheating" as a dj?

@ the original poster- dont pre-plan sets!! When DJ'ing, you are supposed to be catering for the crowd on the dancefloor and what you have pre-planned may not suit what the crowd need. If what you are doing is'nt working then you need to try something different, not stick to a pre-planned set list. ...

Re: Does Live 8 Support Sysex ???

+ 1 for sysex.

Granted, most people use soft synths and do everything inside their computers but there are still people who use Live with external hardware synths and have a need to store patches via sysex etc etc.

For Ableton to ignore this fact is an error in my opinion.....

I second what everyone here has been saying- you will regret it!

I also would never part with my 8030's unless I was going for the 8040's or above.

Re: Why are you not upgrading to Live 8?

Still on live 5 here! Using a really old pc to run it, single core AMD Athlon XP Processor 2800+ and it works just fine, does everything I need it to do.

As already said, you dont need the latest and greatest to make music....

Nice one Rave!

Checked out your tracks and they're wicked, seems we have similar tastes!

Hopefully one day I'll be in your position!

Just out of interest, who is the artist running the label and what is your fave track?

A quick question about Ableton Live 5......

Does Ableton Live 5 make use of dual cores? I ask because I am running it on my dual core laptop and there seems to be a lot of cpu usage when there's not a great deal going on... i.e. one instance of kontakt 3, maybe 2 or 3 instances of zebra with voices set to 'few', and a few audio clips. There a...
