Any DAWs which can host VSTs in Rewire-Slave-Mode?

Reaper can host VSTs in rewire-slave-mode but I get a distorted sound (from Reaper) every time when hitting play in Live. So i always have to stop and restart playing, then distortion is not there anymore. Quite annoying. I've started to use reaper as Vst-host as it is very light on the CPU, but mai...

Re: Shortcut for Activate/Deactivate clip(s)

Well, it's a shame that you can't edit shortcuts. However, there is a workaround for this: i've done it with autohotkey. When i press shift+D on my computerkeyboard, the mouse moves to the deactivate button, makes a click, and moves back to he middle of the screen. I've also done this with the envel...

Re: A few questions before buying a friend's macbook

Thank you for your opinion guys. I was testing this plug/unplug-thingy (which i decscribed above) yesterday with another friends macbook, and its cool to be able to unplug a controller and plug it back without restarting live. This is a big plus when it comes to dj-ing in clubs where you sometimes h...

Re: A few questions before buying a friend's macbook

Thank you tarekith. So i gonna have to think about it as i have e good xp machine and it always worked well, just the last time i had a few dropouts while i was browsing for tracks in the live-browser. It was not due to the harddrive as i have a 7200 rpm drive and there was no "red D" in the right c...

A few questions before buying a friend's macbook

Hi abes, i'm a windows only user but i'd like to buy a macbook cause i've read that they are more reliable on stage. So i have to know if this is true. Here are some questions: 1. Is it true that on osx yo can unplug your midi controller while live is running and plug it back and the controller will...

Re: So, drum n bass...

good one. If you are looking for a bit harder stuff check out all tunes from spor (he is the king) also Noisia (has a album out), the "breed 12 inches" stuff, Break (has also a great album), Alix Perez too (more on the low/liquid side of DnB), Calibre is also very cool if you like it more soulful. S...

Re: Intel I7 not using Multicore???

I've also got a new Win7 intel I7 machine with a few little tweaks and it runs perfect. You should disable: - the "core parking" (googl it) and disable "Default tollerant heap". Also look for blackvipers Win7 services list. I've disabled all the services under the"tweaked" column, and the machine no...

Re: abletons asd files not readable anymore ??

You're right. Its funny that installing quicktime solves this issue.
I had once a problem with my warped mp3s on a new installation. All tunes were unwarped, but after installing quicktime they all worked again. I hope this works for you too.
Cheers

Re: Rishi's Launchpad Presets

I am a bit embarrassed to say I am obsessively checking this site every day for this setup that you have created. How difficult is it to get into this type of programming? Thanks in advance for this unique bit of midi genius. JR hehe, me too. Every day a few times  I hope that it will come...
