Re: Is it possible to peek~ waveforms into the Live Sampler?
I won't argue about Live devices. Not only I know that clearly are not programmed inside Max, also I totally agree with stringtapper and others about the fact that Max/M4L environment is really about programming 'your own devices' and having them appear like Live devices, alongside ableton-programme...

Re: [share] how to delete clips with M4L
Emulating Keystrokes can give much more power than simply deleting clips! Think about just the possibility to add Midi, Audio or Return tracks... or take a look of what you can do with nativekontrol's bome scripts... Just the other day I was thinking at how to send keystrokes to Live and sadly disco...

Re: M4L Browser Zone (Patch in the expandable browser window)
+1 Expanding a little further... now M4L devices, according to default I/O objects they contain, are divided in: - MidiToMidi (Midi fx) - AudioToAudio (Audio fx) - MidiToAudio (Instruments) and they live in a track 'scope'. Live Object Model documentation confirms that, describing a parent/child rel...

Re: Playing audio from Buffer vs. playing from plugin~ object
@pukunui Lucky you! I wish I had your experience with elastic~ object. I'd be using it over and over, instead I had a very bad experience even before actually inserting it in a patch. A lot of problems in the buy, download, activate process, just because they had serious issues in making/managing th...

Re: Playing audio from Buffer vs. playing from plugin~ object
@exaltron actually on elasticmax website they claim they are "Incorporating the same algorithm as software giants Cubase, Ableton Live, and Kontakt"... this basically means: "zplane" the problems with elastic~ are performance and crashes. so apart from playing with it in some patches at home, there'...

Re: The Schwarzonator is stupid
I'd like to throw there just a couple of questions... Is making music more about performing it or more about composing it? Is djing more about beatmatching or more about music selection? In other words... and to make it more general, is making music more about the technique, the performance, the phy...

Re: intel i5 750 cpu good for ableton or i7?
they are both good... whatever you choose you won't regret it, because you'll feel the performance boost compared to previous processor families especially in/for some areas/tasks. Just to say some of my songs went from 30/40% average CPU to 5/15%, mostly the same preformance gain on i5 and i7 apart...

Re: Remix Isolation?
the meaning of the words remix and mashup seems to have changed during the years. the original meaning was just to take separate tracks and 'remix' them, i.e. change eq, filters, volumes. my father used to buy different vinyls of the same LPs, just because they where usually remixed differently for ...

Re: Help needed with Native Instruments FINGER PLEASE
don't know about using it in kore... but I can confirm that it works well with reaktor and it works like a charm configured as follows: 1 have a bunch of audio tracks with your loops in session 2 put one or more 'Reaktor 5 FX VST' in one or more audio or return tracks. select the finger ensemble. 3 ...

Re: max vs Live API vs java script
The real differences are in the interface itself. It's really incredible how the same Object Model can be accessed in so many different ways. :| If you put side by side: Max Patch, JS LiveAPI code, Python LiveAPI code they are all different and deal with things in different ways. The bad thing is th...

Re: Solutions for JS scripting in M4L?
Have you seen this thread? on Cycling74 M4L forum: http://cycling74.com/forums/topic.php?id=22985 There is this code: function observe_apc40() { // just move this outside of the function if you want to access it from other functions var apc40_view = new Array(); for (j=0;j<155;j++) { // numbers of c...

Re: The Live Object Model LOM is the key to advanced m4l.
IMHO it's not necessary a matter of advantage... assignments to api.path and call to api.goto() still need the creation of the LiveAPI object assigned to "api" variable. It has been written in the forum somewhere that calls relative to path are slow... what's not clear it's slow... but compared to w...

Re: wrong new install steps
Happy for you... Maybe I should have done that? There are a couple of reasons why I haven't uninstalled Max: 1 - When installed the updates, whether normal updates or betas, Max always installed_over/updated the previous version without problems. 2 - The really annoying fact that every time you inst...

Re: wrong new install steps
I didn't see the links in the device. I did see the default Max Objects in input and output for the Max Instrument. Max beta was installed and authorized correctly. Before that... Max (non beta) was installed and authorized correctly. Never had the issue of re-authorizing explicitly the new/update v...

Re: wrong new install steps
Yes. I made the libraries updates. I actually saw/read the MaxForLive updater/installer updating something like 960 files/devices. I've now tried to install with the installer from Cycling74 website. It tells me that there is still an instance of Max open and holding some files (I guess preventing t...
