I mean SURROUND PANNING which is different to using aux channels as a workaround.
Been requesting this for years but the word is that for tech reasons it is hard to implement in Live.

yes - crashed a couple of times on startup scanning VSTS - then seemed to resolve itself. Go figure.

Re: Post your most obscure Ableton Live knowledge
i slide transients around like that when matching doubled vocal phrases to the previous takes. I can stretch individual parts in vocal phrases. So I get the "doubled" vocal vibe and the phrases match perfectly (ish).
I assume people use Melodyne to do similar things but it is really fast in Live.

Re: Controllers Losing Communication with Laptop
Sometimes USB devices get sent to sleep (Windows) - my softstep2 was having problems and I discovered this (er, didn't actually solve my softstep problem but it was good to know). Softstep support always blame the cable first BTW. Maybe this will help: http://helpdeskgeek.com/windows-xp-ti...

Re: Lose my interface when I plug in my HDMI
I have a PC system and I believe that when I plug in an HMDI connector, a set of related audio drivers gets installed, that at the very least overrides the system audio drivers. I have to go to device manager and disable (or delete) them.

Also helps to remove unused stop buttons in session view. Don't know why but people say that lightens CPU load.

Hard Disk oVerload light
Hi, Anybody got a suggestion as to why the Hard Disk OL lights up when I am playing a Live Instrument and does not with a Kontakt type sample instrument in the same set? Everything is on the same HD. I thought I'd try to lighten up my live set by using native Ableton synths instead of third party......

Re: Random clip launch?
yes, mouse is always OK. Tried different midi controllers but always getting this 2 or sometimes more presses needed to trigger. If mouse is OK then maybe that points to a midi in problem in my Live config.

Re: Random clip launch?
Hi, Yes forcing another random instead of a potential repeat is nice. "Stop" not being a possible action is OK too, if I understand correctly..

Re: Random clip launch?
Ok got it. Working! Fab! Thanks - as long as I set the first clip up and the correct number of clips. Excellent. Many thanks. it is a lot simpler than Gary's idea of the drum rack, which also works, but this way I can just drag into clips and don't have to have lots of simplers open.
