chapelier fou wrote:Would a device like this work ?
- select a range of clip numbers
- one button to launch random clips within the limits
If so i'll do this today

That sounds like it would be a simple solution. IS that easy to make?

Re: Random clip launch?
Thanks for the replies. Yes Gary, I thought about a drum rack or even creating a sampler instrument with different samples per key. Probably wouldn´t have time to be repeatedly be pressing a key/button in a live situation. There is a M4L device but it is only for midi clips. Yes, I intend to use sam...

Random clip launch?
Hi, I would like to be able to have a series of audio clips in one channel that can be launched as one shots from one button press on a controller, randomly (in any order). IE every time I press the button, one of the clips plays but another is not automatically launched. Follow actions always plays...

Re: Nudge Feature on Live 9.5?
Can't you zoom so that the grid gets finer and then nudge away? You can also disable snap to grid.

Re: Mixing Sound for Video
Am currently doing sound edit and design in Ableton for a film (80 mins). The editor works with premiere. He sends me short scenes and synced separate production audio tracks (that I also recorded) and I have been doing the editing and design in Ableton. I then render those out as wavs to send back ...

Re: Too risky to buy a firewire interface these days?
Just chiming in to say I have used a FireWire to Thunderbolt cable successfully. It worked like a charm. I used FireWire with XP and Windows 7 in PC land on a TC Electronic interface that also worked on my Mac with the adapter cable. Windows 7 was a laptop and I used an express card with the T.I. c...

Re: Too risky to buy a firewire interface these days?
Thanks, good to know. I guess FW conversion isn't necessarily easy. I see they are USB to FW converters but there's no way that would work for audio at any decent throughput. yeah M audio is basic. RME is a step up from that. (I went from an M Audio to RME so I know)

Re: Too risky to buy a firewire interface these days?
Just to chime in here - I use an RME Fireface 400, which I love. I got a Lenovo thinkpad back in 2012 and I use an Expresscard with a TI chip to connect it to the FF400. The expresscard connection is very flimsy and although I have not experienced disconnects in a live situation, I reckon it will ha...

Re: Disable Midi Note OFF messages? SOLVED
Solved. No need to fiddle with midi note messages. I did what was mentioned on the Looper's Delight mailing list: am using the plug in's SPECIFIC required note numbers and controlling the VST with a separately assigned midi track that is piping data to the plug in's audio track and it seems to be wo...

Re: Disable Midi Note OFF messages?
Peter, thanks I will try the code in a M4L effect. Felipe, yes I like the look of what you have done - would it fucntin on a PC? I do have a UNO chip installed - although it seems you can't set up momentary switching with it - at least not in the Control Center software. Yeah, I think so, just need...
