cheers Nod, it worked a treat :) 8) Glad it worked out ok for you Sweetjesus....I prefer the Virtualdub route when encoding/transcoding as you have control over virtually all the parameters you could ever need (dependent on the codec of course). For 'quick & dirty' this is also a useful tool: http:...

Re: DVD to AVI/Quicktime

if the dvd isnt a copyrighted one can i just skip ahead to the Virtuadub with Vob input to convert it to AVI? Yep - take a look here Sweetjesus - http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Virtualdub-MPEG2 Obviously .AVI is just a flask/container and not the actual codec your encoding to. Just open Vdudmod, im...

Re: Dither before mastering?

So, a label has requested a track for mastering. They want no compression or EQ added to the master channel, and they want 48 kHz/24 bit file so they can send to the mastering house. My question is : Do I need to dither when I render the track to 48/24 ? No - if it's actually going to a proper 'mas...

Re: faster and cleaner browser browsing

as I suggested before..one click on the top layer folder shows sublayers.. +1 - nice mock. we need at least 5 user file browsers..but not only more browsers cause that means even more clutter..we desperately need a smart system and behaviour.. +2 This stuff needs to be in Live 8 - otherwise, given ...

Iirc Reason has a similar shortcut? You hold down a modifier, click on the device and it opens all relevant automation lanes in the sequencer window.

I remember there is a way tho to set the 106 into a mono mode for some ultra phat bass sounds. Yep - haven't used a 106 for years but, iirc, it was something to do with holding down 'transpose' while turning on, to put it into testmode, and then selecting one of the Poly options. That assigned the ...

what makes har-bal better than AAMS? Maybe 'better' is a bit unfair Mazzo - specific might be a better term. AAMS sets out to cover all the bases whereas Harbal is more of an EQ tool with a basic limiter/stereo spread function added on. Any 'automatic' mastering process is merely a poor substitute ...

i use mac, and i'm not talking about vocoding. I am talking about an IR convolution reverb, where the IR is being created in realtime in a sampler like interface, allowing you to use any source material as the IR.. processing incoming audio through this IR resulting in a very strange and wondering ...

yah that was what i was thinking. the the impulse response is just the output from sampler. so you can tweak and use lfo's and edit all the sampler parameters but instead of playing the sound, it's only using that wave form as the impulse response for any audio passing through it. That'd be cool - ...

btw i was serious i think mutating a sampler instrument into an audio effect would be cool using the waveform in the sampler as the source for the impulse response of a convolution reverb. is it possible? i have no idea i just dream 8) Gomi - similar concept is possible - and you can use any impuls...
