Yeah... nasty is the key operative here. I definitely don't wanna go virtual analog. I have pretty much heard them all and while there are very nice emulations... there is something thin and missing from that type of synth IMHO. SidStation seems like a fun option... I may get one of those as well......

Ok... Did a search and saw lots of info, but am looking for what the current favorites are?

I am looking for a thick, nasty, analog (not virtual) synth for handling bass lines.

Dave Smith? Studio Electronics? Moog?
