Live 5 freeze is unusable here, which is a shame, because it's the only reason I paid for the upgrade. Not only does it load large VSTI (and their associated samples if a sampler VSTI) in memory even though track is frozen, it deletes frozen wavs next time you open the l;ive set!! Can't believe they...

I can confirm this, happens both on same machine tracks were frozen on and also if you move the set to another machine.

grrrr Live just deleted frozen wav files again! This time on the same machine it was frozen on. Any word from the Abletons on when this is likely to be fixed? Considering its one of the main new features and useless, I hope it's sooner rather than later!

Nah, it doesnt even work properly WITHOUT rewire, frozen loops disapear sometimes when moved to another computer and VSTIs still load into memory (including any samples the VSTI uses) even after freezing.

Peeddrroo:- You need to stop audio to unfreeze tracks anyway, so audio drop outs are not an issue. I would much rather the live set with frozen tracks load quick everytime and only load plugins/large sample sets into memory when needed than have to load them every single time whether needed or not!

Yep, I actually had the frozen wavs disapear on the orignal machine it was frozen on after saving as self contained, from what I can see, Freeze is pretty much uselss, I still need to go through the whole manual render each loop to disc to achieve what the Freeze function that I just paid over $200 ...

Hmmm, they are still advertising it as a "feature". After further invertigation, I found that after you get through the "plugins missing" screen when loading a frozen set on another computer without plugins, it does actually load the frozen wav files... the first time only! shut down Ableton and res...

Freeze weirdness

Maybe I am doing something wrong here, but when I use NI Battery 2 or Kontakt 2 and Freeze the tracks, then reload the live set, it also loads Battery 2, Kontakt2 and the samples used in those programs. Is there a way to simply load the frozen wav files and free up the memory that is being used up i...

Pre-Listen with Rewire?

Just downloaded the Live demo and I am very impressed. One thing I can't figure out is how to get the pre listen routed to another bus in Rewire. I am using a Layla 24 with Cubase SX as Rewire master. For some reason Live always puts the prelisten through the same bus as the main output when in rewi...
