Re: Oh how Live would get so hot if . . .

you can't record clip automaation for live's devices but you can for vsts that have their own 'Midi learn... also... start a research about dummy clips... (hint:they can record absoloute midi...and output it... hmm....combined with the right tools..like a virtual midi port...) Def, midi learn does ...

Oh how Live would get so hot if . . .

I could record vst automation into clips in session view! I know this topic comes up here and again. I know the explained conflict between the absolute values of the arrangement automation versus the relative values of clip automation. But I know it's possible Abes!!! You can do it! I say make clip ...

thanks for the replies. Yeah it's strange. I "hear" the knob movements, and the ableton vst parameter moves correctly, but none of it will record. vector: I've got the opposite almost. I can use midi learn on the vsti's own interface to map a knob. If I then move this knob, the automation will be he...

quick question re: recording automation

I'm probably missing something obvious. I have a midi clip playing minimonsta in session view. I want to record automation. I mapped a knob on my ozonic to control the filter emphasis -- using Ableton map mode. I hit record for the clip and move the knob -- I hear my automation but nothing gets reco...

I'm all over Massive and I already have Absynth. If you have to choose between them, absynth is probably a better first purchase because of it's multitiude of oscillator types and intense envelopes. But massive -- when I first saw it, I thought, big deal. But after trying the demo, I was sold. It re...

I have absynth 4 and personally I think it's extremely powerful, but yes a little complex. You can achieve an incredible variety of sounds with it. Don't have experience with Sylenth 1. There is (was?) a group buy on it in kvr marketplace forum. I'd try both the demos . . . If you are open to other ...

for vst, vsti hosts there is also chainer, and console--cheap. there's also a free one but can't recall. goto kvr and check the hosts page. energyxt is one that's worth paying for.

meef--was it discodsp highlife? that will do automatic sampling of vsti's for free. also direct wave by image-line.

it sounds like you are trying to ron both gr2 & live at the same time . . . you need to use it as a Vst plugin. u shouldn't need to select an audio output when running as a vst. check your manuals for gr2 and/or live.

Yeah if you can't get it to work on mac (but u can on pc) then definitely submit it to support. W/ guitar rig midi control is essential. The automap does work as dj superflat said. But it doesn't allow midi learn (as far as I can see) instead it seems to automatically tie the midi control to the fir...

have you tried to just alt-click phatmatik's file export button? In live 5/6 on PC I've been ablet to do this as machinate said. Just alt-click export button and drag the midi file directly into the track. If that doesn't work then it sounds like a bug. You using the latest version of phatmatik from...

Hey I just tested guitar rig 2 and ableton 6 on pc and got it to work. How you're doing it is right. I have GR2 on an audio track as an effect. I have a midi track armed and it has midi output set to the audio track w/ guitar rig 2. Then underneath it, it has Guitar Rig 2 selected. So it may be a bu...

what about devine machine's vminion? I have it and it can output lfo midi (I think up to 3 channels worth). You select shape/rate/etc then make another track, and set it's midi input to the track that vminion is on. You can then have vMinion controlling some sort of parameter that you've set to the ...
