Re: Help! How do you make a pitch riser that stays in key?

Gave it a quick listen. That's not just a pitch rise it also sounds like a filter opening up revealing more spectral content. The pitch can increase in rough steps to stay in tune and the filter opens up smoothly giving the impression of overall smoothness imo. Depends what key your tack is in and ...

Re: Help! How do you make a pitch riser that stays in key?

If you are using a pitch bend (the most common technique,) it's all about setting the Pitch Bend Range [PB]. In Operator, it's next to Pitch (+5) in this image http://s7.postimg.org/a3a00sxkb/Screen_Shot_2015_06_03_at_8_50_06_PM.png For example, if you set the range to 12 semitones (st), and bend t...

Help! How do you make a pitch riser that stays in key?

I've heard some tracks where there's a lot going on melodically and one element does a pitch rise ---sometime it's a sustained notes, other times a pitched drum, other times even maybe melodies that are rising in pitch... All while staying in key. I've tried the usual pitch bend linear or concave / ...

Re: Help: How to convert acapella into robotic vocals

It would help to know what's wrong with your results. Post it up on soundcloud? You will get much more focused advice. Hmm... don't really use soundcloud. Here's the general technique: I'll use a saw and maybe mix in a little noise as the carrier, a sample or my voice as the modulator. I may compre...

Help: How to convert acapella into robotic vocals

Hey! Can anyone share any tips on how to convert an acapella (either short, or better yet - full length song) into robotic vocals? Note: after decades of playing electronic music, I've *still* never been able to make a vocoder sound good / clear. Yes, I've followed all the tutorials etc., tried coun...

Help: My Midi Controller Just Stops Triggering Live

Hi, I am having a weird problem in 8.2.6 Live. As I am writing my controller just stops working to trigger live. The little light next to the "D" (by the CPU use meter) lights up so it's getting signal, but it stops triggering any VSTs I have on a track. The main fix has been to quit live and restar...

Re: Redmatica Autosampler - worth it?

Just got Autosampler to work and can't get the routings such that it triggers midi from a VST hosted in Ableton. Here's my setup 1. IAC bus 2 activated 2. Autosampler is set to send on IAC bus 2 3. Ableton's Midi prefs have IAC Bus 2 signal turned on 4. Ableton's channel is set to receive midi from ...

Re: When is a Live DJ Set too big?

Using Bomes to automate the naming process and start/loop markers makes this remarkably suck less. But yes, it's a lot of work and that kinda sucks. The output though is pretty cool... I hope it's worth it!

Re: When is a Live DJ Set too big?

the recent upgrade to 8.1.1 eliminated the crash. i also added 8GB of ram to my machine, which of course helps.. Abelton can only use up to 4GB, but I'd love to see that number rise in the future. Thus far the set seems stable, let's see how it goes!
