When is a Live DJ Set too big?
I have been working on a DJ set for the past 4 months. It's got hundreds of tracks, each of which is organized with the main track, and then 6-8 duplicates (on average) with the start points moved in (verse 1, chorus, hook, etc.) and also some loops from within the track. Basically I am trying to ac...

Re: Can you build an MP3 set and easily convert it to WAV?
Awesome! I was just about to post a reply to this to, b/c I just figured that out. Plus I'm using Manage Files and Hot Swap Mode to switch out the mp3 samples with the WAV files. Then I am going just collect all and resave... Am I making extra work for myself? In the project, the file browser wants ...

Can you build an MP3 set and easily convert it to WAV?
Hi, I built a fairly large set using MP3s and am wondering if there's a way for me to use the WAV files i the decoding cache instead of originating with the MP3s? Not sure if I'm making sense. Basically I don't want to have to rewarp everything. Now that it's decoded everything I'd love to do a coll...

Mac webcam for tutorials
Hi all - wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a webcam for Mac OS X that will allow me to use a screen recorder and take video of my outboard gear (like the APC) to make tutorials, etc. Yes the Mac has a built in camera, but that's facing me, not my gear... A lot of webcams mount on the c...

Rack multiple pad edit?
Hi, Is it possible to edit one parameter across multiple samples in a drum rack... e.g., i drop in 10 samples and want to make all their volume be at 0 and velocity at 25%? Dropping in a lot of samples and editing them one at a time is tedious, esp if all the changes to be made are the same. Thank y...

APC40 + Launchpad + (Bomes or Max4Live) = ?
I am using the APC40 + LaunchPad together as controllers to a DJ Setup. I am also using Bomes Midi Translator (on Mac OS X Snow Leopard). Bomes is used to customize some of the APC functions, mainly to provide visual feedback. It's based on Darren Cowley's work (thestudiosessions.co.uk) but modified...

Re: Alternatives to Itunes where i can drop music into Ableton?
i did a lot of research into a good audio sample library application. there is a remarkable lack of them on the market. plus the ones i did find were for movie studios to catalog their sound effects, which meant they costs $$. i have both audiofinder and itunes. when i found out that itunes can make...

Re: Platinum Notes - Yay or neigh?
i have it.
i don't always love it (like mixedinkey, which is a must)
and since decided actually not to use it
b/c the rewarping is a pain
and b/c i don't always find that it enhances the tracks...

Re: THE BIG USER REQUESTS TOPIC FOR LIVE9
Clips - would be cool if we could multi-color clips so half a clip is one color and the other half is another. i know it sounds weird and possibly stupid, but imagine having a two color scheme where one color indicates harmonic mixing compatibility, and the other to indicate possible mood - opener, ...

Re: Using iTunes for sample / file management
I have AudioFinder and it's a good utility, but it really didn't do much in the way of helping me organize my files. Overall, I prefer the itunes method - it's fast, you can search very quickly, and you can hold a ton of sounds in it. I use iTunes for both my music and sample library. It's worked ou...
