Re: Looking for tips on processing vocals in for Tech House

I always use pro for vocals, i read tones is good but haven't tried it yet. I'll try some stuff out with Live. I've been listening to a lot of this stuff recently and am constantly impressed by the vocal sound design, no matter how much they warp and twist the vocal always sounds pristine but when i...

Looking for tips on processing vocals in for Tech House

Posted on Kvr but i thought i'd ask here for peeps more experienced with Live. :) More of a general question but i'm using Live trying to create vocal effects like in the video out of one phrase: https://youtu.be/N6wixRvyjiA?t=80 In the video the same vocal is used (i think) to create several differ...

Re: Issues with the browser when previewing clips and loading.

Just a heads up but it was the beta, someone else was having similar issues. Seems like the update introduced it but i was having issues with 9.6 which forced me to use the beta but Win 8 compatibility mode seems to have fixed it. :)

Re: Issues with the browser when previewing clips and loading.

@Tarekith i can understand with track clips but why does the browser become unresponsive if i add or delete letters? @fishmonkey 850 evo, can't see an update for it but i was aware of the 840 issue... I'll email support to see if they can give any insights on how to speed up things with the browser....

Re: Issues with the browser when previewing clips and loading.

I always try to run as much as possible on the SSD, best to take advantage that speed where ever you can IMO. What kind of tracks are you dragging into Live, wavs or MP3/FLACs? Ah i thought you were referring to audio. It's neither, i'm loading tracks from existing projects with plugins etc but eve...

Re: Issues with the browser when previewing clips and loading.

It was at 2gb, what would be a good size, 4gb? Also is it best placed on the SSD drive? I could place it on a drive partition but it's SATA. Another quick question, i placed the user library on the SSD; would i see an improvement if i placed on the 7,200 rpm SATA drive and the move the decode cache ...

Re: Issues with the browser when previewing clips and loading.

Dragging tracks into the arrangement view works fine, just takes a while for the line to turn black.

Issues with the browser when previewing clips and loading.

To be clear it's an issue with projects but i've had this for while. I'm assuming it's the normal behaviour and looking for ways to speed up Live's browsing and loading, it's been bugging me for a while. Live 9.6 beta 64bit (same with 9.6, same user library with both versions), Samsung Evo SSD, 12gb...

Re: Just got some isoacoustics stands, wow!

Oh right, i thought you might be using smaller monitors for production. I know they make some for subs and bigger speakers but not sure what the max load is. I am thinking about getting one for my sub next. :)

Oh yeah totally but the stands allow them to shine. :)

I'm thinking of all the monitors i've had in the past and how much better they would have been with a pair of these stands.

Re: Mastering EQ

Why don't you just check how the mix would sound 'mastered' before exporting it? Anyway SPL Passe might be a good option for attenuating frequencies.

Pro-Q and PSP Neon seem to be popular amongst mastering engineers. :)

Re: Just got some isoacoustics stands, wow!

I'll have to look into that cause i thought the 10" stands would come in useful on a desk so was thinking of getting another set rather than big stands when i get a new desk, although the Focals could go on the monitor shelf. I'm still well impressed with them anyway, translation is spot on and feed...
