Ha...haven't gotten down there yet: I'm in Portland. But I just sent off 10 CD's to L.A. yesterday...let's cross our fingers. In the meantime, fire me an email (through Solovox.com) and I'll make sure you get the word when I do come to town: I'm a vintage synth-meets-Ableton Herbie Hancock-Chemical ...

I haven't been talking about it much because, frankly, I don't want to give away too many secrets. I never thought I'd say something like that...but it's true in this case. For those of you reading this thread, I will simply say: get it. Put it into a Midi track...remove the slot buttons. Assign a b...

Here is my workaround: Midi Map the SCENE...not the clip. I use the Edirol PCR-30. So I have, for example, Native Instruments B4 on a Midi Track. I Midi assign the ARM button to, say, G#1 on the Edirol. (I use labels on the keys). Then assign a midi command to the horizontal scenes...C2, C#2, D2, D#...

Please Bring Back BUS VIEW!

This was a frequent topic during the Beta tests (I did 'em all, baby!) : The Bus View MUST RETURN! Now, yes...I understand what you guys (Ableton) were going for...increased options of routing, etc. And I know that I'm supposed to now create a NEW audio track for audio out 3/4 or 5/6 or whatever...a...

And I must agree totally! This is the only flaw in my way of doing things...and I'm sure many others do it this way. Ableton: Look...just give us an OMNI button. Perhaps by holding down the CTRL key while clicking the MIDI learn button...and a different color would show on the screen. All messages w...

This was all discussed about 2 months ago on the following thread: http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7790&highlight=touch+screen Here is my report on the purchase...but check the thread because I responded to questions as well: Well, I got it. First things first...I got the 15inch USB lap...

I'm glad to hear it's working for you. I thought Plogue was the shizzle...and I've tried Energy a little bit, too. On my desktop these programs have been relatively stable. On my laptop...which is twice the horsepower and specs of my desktop...they have led to all sorts of problems and crashes...som...

I've been reading this stuff for months and not saying anything...now I'm fed up. ATTENTION TO ANY ABLETON USERS WHO DO NOT WANT VTI's IN LIVE: Shut up. Just please, be quiet. This is so ridiculous. If you DO NOT want a certain feature that SO MANY other people do, TURN IT OFF when Live 4 comes out ...

Well, to be honest, I found myself using the mouse-pad on the laptop alot. Mainly because of habit, though...and still feeling new with the touchscreen. In general, though, it worked great. Big buttons like on Traktor are a piece of cake. Triggering clips in Ableton: tougher. But I haven't grown out...

I couldn't say, since I've only used the USB version. However, I did discover that you HAVE to use the SAME USB port every time with the screen or it doesn't think it's intalled when you boot. Small issue, but important. I'm performing tonight with both Ableton and Traktor with it....I'll let you kn...

Answers: is it difficult to attach/remove it from the screen (assuming you have to remove it to shut the lid)? Very easy...just four quick velcro strips and it's on...but you DO have to calibrate every time you boot up. You go to the icon on your desktop marked "Touch USB" and press the four corners...

Magic Touch Screen Review!

Well, I got it. :D First things first...I got the 15inch USB laptop screen...with 2 day air it was 209 bucks. It arrived on time and well-packed. Does it work? Yes. The installation is quite painless, and there is a simple callibration procedure you should do everytime you use the screen which takes...

Great points...I hadn't thought of that. However, as per my previous post, I'd like to see what combining this screen along with my Edirol controller is like. And as far as tempo...as long as I can single-click the window, I have no problem using the arrow keys or number keys to make the change. And...
