Search this forum and the web for "FCB1010" and "Soft Step".

Re: Ok so this is wierd...

I am delighted that you got your troubles sorted!

But I was really waiting for someone to say "get a PC" . . .

(having had more than one person respond with the opposite to my issues)

Go make some music, & have fun!

Swank! Are you using sends for the faders effects? Very melodic & musical, and enjoyable.

Re: PA Speakers - SRM450v2 (Thread title changed)

You could do worse than a pair of used JBL Eons - get the G2s (more wattage, etc). I got a pair for 500$, and they work very well.

Re: Live transposing

Get creative w/ the scale and chord midi effects. I use dummy clips to automate key changes for vst synths triggered by an Alesis control pad. Works nicely.

Stick a SansAmp in there somewhere, and a Fulltone Mosfet pedal, and be happy.

Re: Alienware notebooks ok for Ableton?

Look for the Texas Instruments firewire chipset, if your interface is firewire. It's the one most manufacturers recommend, and nearly impossible to obtain these days. The older Aliens had it, at least.
