Re: Voice Control of Live?

Maybe slightly dated, but I did a small thing with Windows speech recognition macros back in 2013: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhGWmv8z8_M https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13045 You type a sentence, and the speech recognition listens for matches coming from the microphone...

Re: loop sound files without warping

+1. Not being able to loop unwarped sounds makes me sad.

Re: Post your most obscure Ableton Live knowledge

BTW, you can also set every default track (audio and midi) to have the Utility Audio Effect on it so that you can more quickly do volume automation and leave the mixer level adjustment free of automation when it comes to mixing. Utility doesn't go down to -inf dB, but an empty Audio Effect Rack does.

Re: Share your beginners mistakes.

I enjoyed being a beginner, so I can't really say I regret anything. Here are some things I'd say to other beginners though: 1. Feeling overwhelmed by your lack of skill? Make something silly or intentionally bad. It's fun and you'll learn something. Record friends' voices and play them at a lower p...

Re: too long to render

Maybe render first and second half individually, and merge them in Audacity or another audio editor?

Re: multiple midi editing and inline editing

This is probably my top request for Live 10, along with fixed pitch bend resetting and undo after save.

Until then, this Max for Live device does layered MIDI quite nicely: http://isotonikstudios.com/chaos-cultur ... ip-editor/

Re: insert midi clip

Creating MIDI clips in arrangement view is one of the few things I wish was different in Live. I didn't even know there was a right-click option, and that it's only visible without automation. I would love to see this implemented instead: SUG-2297: Double-click to create MIDI clips in arrangement vi...

Re: Why does Ableton keep adding new features that no one wants?

I guess it's because most people really like these features, most people don't visit these forums, and it's important to have things that differentiate you from the rest. It seems like Live is primarily geared towards beatmakers and performers, not people who do composing - thus, we get slicing and ...
