isn't that just the old thing about session envelopes being relative and arrangement absolute? so you need to raise the parameter beforehand if you want the session envelope to be effective.

I think I noticed on the video that you could drag pads/slices off of the drum slicer and then make them a different 'track'. I didn't understand that part of the video at all. Any beta testers care to elaborate on what was actually going on there? does it extract the midi out of the clip or someth...

the pitch bend will get recorded in the clip itself. so select the clip and open the envelope view to find the controller data.

macro knob ranges?

you know when you map a midi controller to a knob you can bring up the midi mapping view where you can adjust the range of the controller. well is there a similar way to adjust the range of a macro knob? the reason i ask is that i want to assign a macro to the filter cutoff of a racked albino synth,...

there are a couple of workarounds for this. one is to use a utility plugin on each track and automate it's gain rather than the track's volume fader (or vice versa). alternatively create extra tracks and route the output of the already-automated tracks to those extra tracks where you can adjust the ...

thanks for the post glamourboy. i'm in a similar situation coming to live from a logic background and am loving the session view. though i would deperately like to use live as my only daw but it's the awkward arranging that's letting me down. regarding ableton spending resources on libraries and ins...

Re: shortcut for "mute midi note"

is there a way to mute a selected midi note by pressing a key? i find the option only by right mouse click. thx, pony i'm not in front of my mac to try this, but i can see that deactivate note(s) is a menu item. so if you're on osx you should be able to assign a keyboard shortcut to that menu item ...

i haven't used exs24 for a while though if my memory serves me right, it has some similar limitations as sampler - e.g. a shared filters and envelopes per instrument - though lives racks can work round this. exs24 can have multiple outputs unlike sampler. and racks work around that obstacle, too. i...

the main piano riff was actually re-recorded for the us3 tune by an old school-friend of mine (who now plays keys for simply red but the less said about that the better!)

as for the intro sample - no idea i'm afraid. isn't birdland a jazz club in new york?
