Re: Should I Upgrade?

I recently upgraded from 6 to 8 suite because they offered a good deal. The basic functionality of the program is the same but there are some significant enhancements. For example instrument racks and drum racks ( the latter seems to make impulse redundant). Of course with suite you get all the inst...

Re: You just stay home and play synthesizers

Looking around at maybe buying my first synthesizer and just wondered if anyone had any suggestions. Complete beginner at this and want something thats easy to get to grips with, not going to break the bank but still puts out some quality sounds. Love getting to grips with new tech and experimentin...

Re: scale of automation lane

You can resize every automation lane in the same manner as you resize audio tracks. (Move your mouse to the left side of the arrangement view where you can read the names of your tracks, then to the bottom edge of your automation lane. Now you have to see the resize icon as a mouse cursor. Click an...

scale of automation lane

In the Instant Remix tutorial the automation lane scale is too wide to show the whole range of values. How to I change the scale so I can see the whole range?

New Computer. How to reinstall?

I had Live4.0 on my old laptop, upgraded to version 5 then version 6. I have just changed laptops. I have downloaded the latest version of Live, but should I just install that, or should I install my version 4 again and then install the upgrade? Or something else? Thanks, David.

in order to have one set of midi controls per track would mean that I'd need to have 1 controller track per synth-line in Live. True. It is a hack, not very elegant. It appear to me that the reason Ableton may not have fixed this obvious problem is to do with the design of "remote control". When th...

Davo, I'm quite sure he means automation for the plugins in Live - including the native ones. As Angstrom says, you can use recorded CCs to automate plugins, including the native ones. In Windows you can use MIDI Yoke to send midi out from the CC automation track on one of the virtual ports and if ...

Re: The Very Very Saddest "Live" Thing Missing In Live 5........

[quote="Kodama"]Has to be recording midi automation in clips.

I don't see the problem. You can record CC tweaks into a midi clip. If you want to record NRPNs then you can use a program like MIDI-OX to map these to CCs, then map them back when they come out of Live.
