Re: Fanu presents: Ableton Live Basics video

Started filming my Ableton Live Advanced video today.
It'll have a TON of deeper content.

Let me know what you would like to see/hear.

Out this summer.
Huge thanks to all who've got my basics video so far…been going worldwide!

Re: Master clipping, yet all levels below 0db

You're probably roasting something on the tracks with some plugins.
Or running something hot into something on the master.

As we know, track levels per se don't matter as long as master stays green, thanks to 32-bit float audio engine.
But levels between/into plugins is another matter.

Re: Automation with External Instrument in Arrangement view

On Arrangement, CCs stay in the clip.

To overcome this and have CCs on the track, one can use M4L devices that use CCs such as this one:

Literally trying to correct one's terminology so one can talk about the right, exact thing. 10.1 will actually bring a button to easily switch between these two: https://www.facebook.com/fanubreaks/videos/11067144261966...

Yes, i agree, automation and modulation automation are the same thing!
I don't know who you're agreeing with.
There is no such thing as "modulation automation".
You have automation and modulation.

Manual p. 316.

Re: Copy midi clip to arrangement: automation env. doesn't stay in clip?!

The "he" was me! I think we're just getting hung up on words, i'm calling it "modulation automation" but you're just calling it "modulation"! Automation and Modulation are two different things. Re: Copy midi clip to arrangement: automation env. doesn't stay in clip?!

This is by design: in Session, automation is in clips. In arrangement, it's on its own lanes (that you can open many by clicking the + sign). And this has nothing to do with modulation per se. Sure, but in arrangement you can also have modulation automation inside clips (so, not in lanes), right? Y...

CONSTANTLY!

Save iterations of your sets after every major tweak you do... like Song 01, Song 02, Song 03.
As long as you keep saving with the same filename, you'll get automatic backups of the previously saved states in the Backups folder.

Yes.
Could you tell me, how ? I can't see the presets from external plugins in browser.
You first activate them in the Prefs, under Plug-Ins tab.
After that you'll see them and can all to Collections.

Re: Automation vs Modulation envelopes

Automation is absolute . E.g., let's say you'll draw a filter curve that goes from 200 Hz to 1000 Hz. Boom. That's what it'll do. In addition to that, you can draw a modulation curve; it's relative . It'll add to or subtract from that filter curve / the filter's current state. Manual p. 316: "Wherea...

Re: Going Native...

The only really weak link in Live's plugin arsenal for this use is its Limiter; not capable in the least for decent master limiting (eats all the transients). Color Limiter in Creative Expansions pack works a little better, but still not mastering grade (transients are OK but distorts easily and no ...

I repeat: Any chance your Live is 64-bit and Reaktor is 32 – or the other way around?
