Re: Automation vs Modulation envelopes

Automation is absolute . E.g., let's say you'll draw a filter curve that goes from 200 Hz to 1000 Hz. Boom. That's what it'll do. In addition to that, you can draw a modulation curve; it's relative . It'll add to or subtract from that filter curve / the filter's current state. Manual p. 316: "Wherea...

Re: Going Native...

The only really weak link in Live's plugin arsenal for this use is its Limiter; not capable in the least for decent master limiting (eats all the transients). Color Limiter in Creative Expansions pack works a little better, but still not mastering grade (transients are OK but distorts easily and no ...

I repeat: Any chance your Live is 64-bit and Reaktor is 32 – or the other way around?

Re: Weird audio glitches during playback/real time export

I'd say this is likely some 3rd party plugin (e.g., recently my AOM Limiter's annual license had run out, and I was getting constant pops on the bounce because that's what the unlicensed demo does). Your audio interface has nothing to do with the export: it's all math inside your computer (unless it...

Re: Noobie question

"Will the midi signal go through the usb-port to my computer?" If your audio interface has a midi in, and you connect your Yamaha to that, the midi will be going to your computer, yes. Make sure to enable that in Live's settings. Thank you, yes it has a midi in. I was just asking because it has a m...

Make sure to enable that in Live's settings.

Re: Macro controls for instrument AND effects

No. Afaik, this is the only way to do it. Otherwise the effect always ends up after one of the instruments and not all of them.
Just did a pretty complex rack myself, and it's always about mapping things "to the left" in the chain as you described.

Re: Ableton 10 Session View- moving automation with the clip at the same time?

You probably have automation lock on – see if the lock icon is enabled (above the tracks on Arr).

Re: I'm starting to love the Ableton compressor (the standard one)

Those badboys get the job done.
And it's good that Compressor has both Peak and RMS modes, so it's suitable for many applications.
Also, afaik Glue Comp is a component-level-modeling clone of an SSL comp.

Re: Fanu presents: Ableton Live Basics video

ABLETON VIDEO PRICE DROP. I have reduced the price of my Ableton Live Basics video. I’ve been wanting to get the price right (entrepreneur's ongoing quest), and as I gave it the "introductory discount", it really started flying the way I'd love it to happen. So, I took heed of that, and the regular ...

Re: Live 9 MIDI CC automation in arrangement window (Reason 6)

Guys, use the M4L CC devices, as has been suggested. Yet another useful tool to get CCs on your Arr track: http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device/2560/cc-map8 I'm going to make a wild guess that this functionality will never be more baked into Live, so use this. After all, Ableton bought Cycling74...

Not the same thing, but as a substitute, you can click on the bars/beats area on top of the clip view.
