Re: Noobie question

"Will the midi signal go through the usb-port to my computer?" If your audio interface has a midi in, and you connect your Yamaha to that, the midi will be going to your computer, yes. Make sure to enable that in Live's settings. Thank you, yes it has a midi in. I was just asking because it has a m...

Make sure to enable that in Live's settings.

Re: Macro controls for instrument AND effects

No. Afaik, this is the only way to do it. Otherwise the effect always ends up after one of the instruments and not all of them.
Just did a pretty complex rack myself, and it's always about mapping things "to the left" in the chain as you described.

You probably have automation lock on – see if the lock icon is enabled (above the tracks on Arr).

Re: I'm starting to love the Ableton compressor (the standard one)

Those badboys get the job done.
And it's good that Compressor has both Peak and RMS modes, so it's suitable for many applications.
Also, afaik Glue Comp is a component-level-modeling clone of an SSL comp.

Re: Fanu presents: Ableton Live Basics video

ABLETON VIDEO PRICE DROP. I have reduced the price of my Ableton Live Basics video. I’ve been wanting to get the price right (entrepreneur's ongoing quest), and as I gave it the "introductory discount", it really started flying the way I'd love it to happen. So, I took heed of that, and the regular ...

Any chance your Live is 64-bit and Reaktor is 32?

Re: Live 9 MIDI CC automation in arrangement window (Reason 6)

Guys, use the M4L CC devices, as has been suggested. Yet another useful tool to get CCs on your Arr track: http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device/2560/cc-map8 I'm going to make a wild guess that this functionality will never be more baked into Live, so use this. After all, Ableton bought Cycling74...

Not the same thing, but as a substitute, you can click on the bars/beats area on top of the clip view.

Re: Content is Different Between Session & Arrangement Views?

Thank you, Fanu... That clears up my misconception. It's not that the content (audio files) are different. I thought these two views reflected on and played the same data from a shared transport. I clear on it now. I did some testing and found that while playing from sessions view, if I click on th...

Re: Idiot question #2 for the day

Ahhhh crap yeah; I had made it 194x110 and was messing with the sizes. Somehow it remained too big, so seems I now had to edit the code to display another image, then the one I wanted, so it refreshed – it shouldn't have been that big. Works now. (EDIT: changed the whole thing to be more forum-suita...

Re: Content is Different Between Session & Arrangement Views?

Those gray arrows as well as the orange Back To Arrangement icon does not mean that the content differs: it means that your current playback does not reflect what's on the arrangement 100% – playback differs from what's on the arrangement in some way…something is different (e.g., something is playin...

Re: Idiot question #2 for the day

I have a push 2 and when I click the record button there it does trigger the session record, not the arrangement record. Shift + Rec on Push 2: prepare arrangement record. Then just hit rec again to rec on arrangement. Sorry maybe I was not clear - I’m trying to do the opposite. I’m trying to trigg...

Personally, I haven't even heard of AU v3 until now.
VST3 support is coming with 10.1.
