Re: The Great BitWig Migration

Presonus often have sales and the big one can be had for 199 or less :) Studio one works very well with Live through rewire :) I think I just missed the last one. How often do they have these sales? Do they advertise them? Usually every 6mo or so, seems more often recently though. I think they've s...

Re: VST Plugins

No, the talkbox that they are advertising is a high-resolution vocoder. I'm looking for a Daft Punk "Around the World" sound 'high resolution vocoder' is sort of nebulous without any specifics, do you know if its actually somehow a 'higher resolution' than abletons? The built in one has m...

Re: VST Plugins

Not that one. You do realize its just a vocoder right? Ableton has one built in. There are also lots of others out there:

If you need free and dont want to use abletons and need mac x64 theres http://kunz.corrupt.ch/products/tal-vocoder

Re: VST Plugins

Are you using 64bit ableton? I don't think the mda stuff is 64bit and ableton has no bridge. I don't know how au's work but I think they are bit dependent as well

Re: The Great BitWig Migration

from what i've seen, people who have actually been trying to make music in Bitwig have been running into major workflow show-stoppers, including the omissions that you have mentioned. i just think they spread themselves too thin, trying to achieve too much too quickly. anyway, i hope they make it t...

Re: VST's that emulate analog synths

Yea the majority can't tell the difference. The only issue is that these are usually small sample sizes because once one of these blind tests are posted either many people back down or just refuse to do the test saying its unfair in some way or another. Of those that do respond most never can tell w...

Re: The Great BitWig Migration

I doubt they could start offering cross grades now, that would piss off a large portion of their cutomer base at this point giving a discount only a month after release. However I'm definitely expecting some around the holidays

Re: VST's that emulate analog synths

if the unstable and random variables are (I would argue) what give value to the analog synth, couldn't this also be programmed into a VST? And if U-He has attempted this, is there anyone who has taken this train of thought further? yes, many (well maybe not as far as diva since once you dig in it a...

Re: Ableton Live icon looks like a white sheet of paper (Win 8)

Give it time, it happens every update for me, and after you run ableton a few times it ends up being fixed (or maybe it took a run and a reboot I cant remember)

Re: Geist Cheap (in case you didn't know)

Can someone please check their geist and confirm that you cannot move control knobs inside of live? For example, record a midi part in live and try to move the master volume? When you stop playback, it seems to work fine. This is a known issue thats been reported for over 2 years now, problem exist...

Re: VST's that emulate analog synths

Also that diva review is pretty old at this point as its been updated numerous times. It now has multicore support that doesnt depend on the host so enabling that greatly reduces the cpu strain. They also added some new filters and a new supersaw module. Its definitely not as cpu hungry as it was wh...
