Re: Any way to open two ableton projects at the same time?

Hi Ken, it's in both the 9.1 beta and the L9 versions. Here I have open the 9.1 64 bit version, and the other image is of 9.0x 32 bit. Both of these are making noises at the same time. http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee227/robot-elf/multiple-instances_zps3a3bfcdd.gif Although, like I said earlie...

Re: Any way to open two ableton projects at the same time?

it is there in L9, Preferences > Look and feel (tab) "Allow multiple instances" the problem is that it barely works, because the L9 browser's somehow fumbles the Library database so that it's only visible in one version. This is not a limitation of the database itself, it's a flaw in L9. This is al...

Re: Live 9.1 any news

The new additions are great, but they get undermined by the issues with the browser and smartsnap. The funny thing is: I'm sure they made the browser this way to priotitise their content (their categories, their content, their authors, all at the top, no filtering) . But because of that I find I'm ...

Re: Remember the Bloody Audio Interface!

I think you're not understanding the issue. A laptop user likes to use her/his audio interface in the studio, but may prefer to work with headphones plugged into the laptop directly while working on a session at a coffee shop or so. Now, when you come back home and plug your audio interface in again...

Re: Virus Ti, Push and Live 9

I have a TI Snow at this point, used to have a Polar. I created a group with 4 tracks in it, where one track has the TI plugin and the other tracks use external instruments. The last two tracks have the utility device as well, where I convert the left and right output of channel 3 of the TI to a mon...

Re: Logic Pro X is out.

Yeah, like I said, it's doing 'something'! Can't find anything concrete except for general consumer Apple talk: "The Process Buffer Range: setting determines how large a buffer Logic sets aside for its mixing engine. As with the I/O Buffer Size, smaller settings decrease latency, but increase CPU l...

Re: Logic Pro X is out.

I edited my post above with the 1024 results... The Synth is the beta of Spire. Yeah seeing those new test results is totally believable as to what I am seeing too. As mentioned my computer craps out at about 60% or so with Live where it can go to the high 80% with Logic, sometimes even a bit more....

Re: Logic Pro X is out.

Nope, Logic was set at 128, and stays at 128 AFAIK. I've been using Logic for years and have never read anything like that? Any latency switching would bugger up plugins and cause reloads, especially with my UAD ones which need a set buffer. Where did you read that it switches buffers for playback?...

Re: Logic Pro X is out.

Since I regularly get to the end of a project in Live and get sputtering audio because of CPU usage, this is the biggest reason I use Logic: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=594190033965416&set=a.143915915659499.40310.115763315141426&type=1# I've done a CPU stress test between Logic X and Liv...

Re: Logic Pro X is out.

Man, I downloaded it and can't believe that some of these old annoyances are still there. You can't non destructively reverse a part of a region without having to still bounce it as a new audio file first? The MIDI note length editing still sucks. When moving an audio region while playing back a ses...

Re: Logic Pro X is out.

Contact Apple, you might get upgraded for free. I don't know what their cutoff is, but they do that sometimes so it's definitely worth a try. Just had a client insist I do her new mixdown in Logic X, so I'm installing now. More improvements than I first thought from the quick look through the help ...

Re: HELP!!! Audio drop out with Reason Balance

I haven't used a PC in years but I would try to change the Processor Scheduling in your system properties under the advanced tab to Background Services. That usually helped me with pops and clicks. Like I said, I haven't used a PC in years but it may be worth a try.

Re: All external VST's stopped working

Having the same issue. This seems to be a 9.0.3 bug. It just auto updated today and sure enough my sessions that worked fine in 9.0.2 stopped working. I am going back to 9.0.2 using time machine for now. :(

Re: Access Virus and Ableton Live 9?

I'm almost tempted to spend the extra bucks for the keyboard version and use it as my controller keyboard. I used to own a TI Polar and loved it. The only reason I sold it was because I was on the road a lot and wanted a more portable setup. The TI Snow is prefect for me because it only weighs 3lbs...

Re: Access Virus and Ableton Live 9?

Hey Ken,

It works well for me. Make sure you're not connecting it through a hub though, instead directly to the USB "hub" on your computer.
