I think it's quiet cool. all the standard sounds within live, no hassle with usability of vst sample modules. and they are light on cpu and sound good. OK, the difference between download and box is like € 80/$ 100. that's a bit steep. If you have a good sample player and collection you can pass it,...

I know it's a hellofaquestion, that's why I'm asking for advice. ;-) thanks for yours. Terratec, hmm. I always had them on my mind as a consumer-company. I had a phase 24 built in the pc at my former employer and drivers were s(/&%. About the EWS MIC 8 it's hard to find information even on terratecs...

which interface for me?

I want to upgrade from my tascam us 122 both for more (analog) inputs and improvements in sound quality and latency. I have a macbook 18.3 with 2 gigs ram, and use live almost exclusively (anybody wanna buy reason?) here are my applications studio: most of the time I record track by track, condenser...

But one of the most requested improvements to live's native dynamics device is external key input for sidechain. Basically, thisd would let you route another audio signal to the plugin to control it. In other words, tyou could use a hi hat pattern to open the gate on a sustained pad, chopping it up...

I like the way ableton are improving LIVE's capacity for production. I can only see this product getting better and better. They still need a native sidechaining device though. I don't even know what that could be. Compressor 2 has sidechain, doesn't it? So far Live 6 gives me all I need - i am sur...

buffer size with tascam us 122

in live 5 i could alter the buffer size ad libitum, now in live 6, when i do, the sound gets distorted (pretty much like extreme erosion settings), even when I use higher buffer sizes. just a very small spot of buffer sizes are usable. I can live wth that (in fact the lowest buffer sizes I have ever...

Live 6 – pretty mainstream

...and I mean that positive. sure racks give enough creativity food for all rocket scientist. but for me, the mainstream features just like eic and qt are very valuable for everyday work where you have to meet a deadline (bye reason). and project management is really cool now. I am exploring somethi...

octave settings of the eic

I just received the boxed version and installed the eic. sounds pretty good, great tool for all mainstream activities. but although i am on a 5 octave keyboard here i always switch octave shift to access al the sounds for exmple when changing from bass (which leaves the higher register unemployed) t...

that's really cool. for demoing I often misuse my guitar as a bass by setting it one octave deeper (recorded with a mic this makes my archtop become very much like an upright bass). now that will be done in a second.

thanks!

how can I do that? That's already handy

I'd prefer the "by track default" anyway, because that would apply to all new recorded clips in the track, wouldn't it?

any real live experience with tc konnekt?

It seems to be a pretty well thought package, but I wonder if drivers are working properly. i am on intel macbook, 1.83, 2 gigs ram what latencies do you get? is the midi interface tight? they rave a lot about the pres – are they really top notch? If I understand right I can use the dsp channel stri...

Cologne, Koeln, Köln

As my search for this keywords showed no results, it looks like I have to start the Cologne Live User Group. Let me introduce myself first: I am a freelancing copywriter and composer/musician. I may be minimalistic but as live integrates more features it becomes my main audio and midi workhorse. I h...
