A Sub doesn't always have to be in the center (it's omni-directional).

Re: designing soundsystem for medium sized outdoor even.
If you have a hard wall behind the stage (concrete) then it would be best to place the subs at center stage, FACING the wall about 10" away from it. I've seen many beginners/non-professionals do this! Why?! It might make sense in particular circumstances, but to use this technique whenever you...

I have also experienced this. I have disabled the motion sensor through a Terminal command and this seems to have fixed the problem.

Yes you are right. I apologise. All sound is done in post. I've been getting paid £250/day to peel potatoes for the last 8 years. Silly me. If you're gonna say that, at least quote the post where I said "all sound is done in post". (Spoiler alert: it's not there to be quoted.) Wow, 250 a ...

No need to apologise. You're on the right track already, and you don't even know it.

Re: Something to make all of you sound designers think
because you don't need to. You could actually go to all the trouble of recording real sounds in a real environment, and there is no guarantee that once you put the recording to the visuals that it will actually look/sound that good. Or you could go in the studio and make sounds that sound convincin...

Re: Something to make all of you sound designers think
This how i'd do it: I'd just go to a club and record it with a hand-held recorder. Having a DJ mate would help. It'll sound way more realistic and there would be a greater contrast when you switch to the full-range sound. Perhaps, but there's a reason that movie and tv producers rarely use location...

Re: Acoustically treating an odd shape room
But if for example the door is always open you are always going to be getting boomy reflections from there no matter what. Could you please explain to me the theory behind this phenomenon, given you don't know the position of the door in relation to the speakers and listening position? To the OP. B...

Re: Single Monitor Listening?
1 speaker listening is not as stupid as it sound. Some people start by mixing in mono, get the mix good, then pan everything. It will help fight frequency masking and when you got the money, you can get a second one. Be sure to take something good and balanced like the Adam. If your in a small room...

Re: can fades and crossfades only be long as the original loop?
Yes. In arrangement your fade can only be as long as the loop.flowdesigner wrote:Hui,
Sometimes I cant make long fades on clips in arrangement - is that because the original loop is not longer than 1 bar or something?
Just select the length you want the fade to be and 'consolidate' (cmd + J) and voila.

Re: Phase linearity? Huh?
A linear phase in other words is a flat frequency response. The Adam tweeters go up to 50khz, which is a result of the construction technology of their 'Art tweeters' and allegedly don't suffer from the limitations of standard dome tweeters. Or are you referring to something else? Could you post a l...
