i'm using guitar pedals and my Alesis ION as fx unit for vocoding, filtersweeps and phasing (sounds really smoooth 8) )… also there are a Lexicon MX-200 (reverb, delay) and an old Yamaha REX50 (reverb, distortion). now i'm thinking about buying a SPL Transient Designer and a good hardware compressor...

please post your main problem, maybe there are other solutions.
i think its not possible to chain 2 soundcards but only if you have for example 2 Marian cards, or 2 M-Audio DELTA cards because these type of cards are stackable...

please try to explain your problem more precisely. ;)

i think EQ8 does what it should do in a good way but i'm also using Cambridge EQ (UAD), GEQ-7 (Kjaerhus) and the SV 315 (Sonalksis) for 'special jobs'. 8)

is the SPDIF-in active in the M-Audio mixer?
also you have to activate this input channel in the menu:

"option -> preferences -> audio -> channel-config -> input-config"

in Live 8)

on the audio track select your MIDI channel in "Audio from".
arm the audio track in mixer view.
now all buttons in the track should be round instead of squared.
now start recording by double clicking onto one of this round record buttons...

hope that helps 8)

recommended footpedal

i'm loooking for a simple and useful footpedal that i can use for triggering events in Live (just for an example: the legendary live looping ;) ). it should be simple with maximum of two pedals. i DON'T want the FCB 1010, its just too huge for my studio, there is no room for this giant... ;) please ...

FX Teleport is definately NOT for BPM-counting useable. it is a program for linking 2 PC's over the network and use one as a VST-master and the other one as a VST-slave and thern you can use the second PC as another VST-hoster if your main PC is out of memory, or CPU... :? i know, complicating expla...
