I'm growing quickly fond of this and the price is right:

pay no attention to the cheekiness of the advert - it sounds cool.

Agreed. I bought standalone Reflektor as Live lacks a convo verb and I like the product quite a bit but navigating to it thru Guitar Rig is teh lameness.

Re: Beats, Rhymes, Life the movie

"Low End Theory" still hiphop's finest moment for me. I saw the tour in a sweaty Avalon club in Chicago in the early '90's. Show started hours late...some stupid promoter coming on the stage every 5 minutes to hype the crowd. People fed up and pissed (to be fair every hip hop show in the 90's starte...

Re: Your favorite Suite8 Instrument?

I also use it to sample some of my more CPU hogging VST's. Again, I can load a lot of samples into a single instance and easily tweak to taste (like above), or make the sound based on velocity and throw a velocity plug in front of it set to completely random for 100% random sounds. Can really make ...

Re: Propellerhead Reason 6 announced!

No integrated sampling system? Give me a break. I kind of agree. Reason could be like Ableton in that the whole program is essentially one big sampler and they just don't go there, which I don't understand b/c they could still keep the beloved stability of a closed system. They have the killer time...

Re: Ex ableton developers release fist Teaser of their Program

I, like other commenters here, am outraged! Call that a product ??!? The GUI is barely legible, it seems very haphazardly laid out with all those thkngs on top of each other - making it very hard to understand!!1 The non-standard screen shape is very un-pro !! Also, pressing the few buttons I can a...

Re: Features you would like to see in Ableton 9?

Every mixer channel to have a fx rack like Record's mixer and the pan control to include a width control so that you can get at and see basic mix functions on all channels *without* having to dig around inside tracks chains. An easy way to do this would simply be make the first rack's (instrument, ...

Re: Kontakt 4 vs Sampler.

it's an environment on it's own.. This is what to keep in mind. A lot of software choices these days (not just music, this includes business, design, etc.) come down to "do I choose something that does 80% of what I want it to do and is simple or go with a deep environment that I have to invest tim...

Re: New Mac OSX Daw - Harrison Mixbuss

You dont want to "bounce all tracks" in ableton, as any adjustments you make to track will not be reflected by the separate send effect bounce that Ableton made (pan a synth hard left, the separate reverb bounce will stay in the middle) - so you'll be soloing each Ableton track and bouncing individ...
